NEED Organic Food, shakes & vitamens Recommendations

Recommended Posts

HELLO FELLOW HEALTH Warriors

QUESTION: I will be eating organic which includes my shakes, Vitamins, etc. What brands to you recommend that you where able to tolerate early post op as well as Vitamins. Right now I will be using Garden of Life Raw Protein

Thank you as I know it all changes once I have the surgery. Right now I am looking at the sleeve. Also what organic stool softeners or remedies for acid reflex have you used???

THANK YOU for taking time to help this girl out. I Love all your posts... Cindy

Garden for Life is probably your best bet. I used NitroPro (sweetened with Stevia, but not organic) and mixed that with Garden for Life to cut the chalkiness.

Organic yogurts and creams Soups will probably be your best friend when you can start having them.

As for Vitamins, I've always been a Rainbow Light kinda gal.

Be well…

I did the same thing. My brother has a doctorate and does mega research on the benefits of different types of foods and supplements. He is a major health nut.

For Protein drinks........Whey factors. Uses stevia. I don't think this one is organic, however, brother insists it's the best out there. I've used it since day one. Shaklee for Vitamins. I use their Multivitamins. Other supplements I purchase from my primary doc. He has his own line, organic, non gmo products.

As for Protein Bars, I stick with think thin. No splenda or aspartame. It was difficult to find one without the artificial sweeteners and no wheat.

For sweeteners, I use stevia, munk fruit powder, erythritol (organic), and xylitol. None have calories. Like stevia, too much is bitter. So I add a little at a time until I get the taste I care for. There is a list out there of the dirty dozen and clean 15. Here is a link....... http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/health/the-dirty-dozen-and-clean-15-of-produce/616/.

I NEVER buy the dirty dozen and those are the items I insist on being organic. I also buy organic meats. Not only better for you, the taste is amazing. I also go none GMO. That can really mess up all the good work we have done for ourselves. Mostly, our bodies reject the stuff. Because of many of the gmo products out there, I've developed some major allergies. Like wheat, kiwi and nuts.

Since I eat far less than I used to, I splurge on the best and spend far less than I did on groceries before the surgery.

I read all labels before I purchase. You never know what they will sneak into the food.

Hope this helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
