Recommended Posts

Calling all members of the body for life challenge #1 - who knows how many challenges we may do? So here is to the beginning of getting in shape - here are the rules:

1) Be true to yourself - this is a 12 week challenge, no one will be monitoring your exercises except you. So, your accountable to yourself, just remember, be true to yourself.

2) Take your before picture by Monday 4/23/07 and measurements (measurements are a must because some weeks while you are building muscle you might gain but lose inches) -

3) The program calls for 5 or 6 small meals a day, You may modify this to your needs - I will be modifying mine.

4) If you haven't read the book, you really need to read the book, its called Body for Life by Bill Phillips

5) Lets check in at least once a week, maybe on Mondays or so, but you can check in more often if you like.

6) The challenge begins 4/23/07 and ends on 7/15/97 - it is 12 weeks long (or 84 days, however you want to look at it)

7) If you would like to officially register, you must do that on the body for life website.

Here are the challenge members and whoever else wants to join, just jump on and let us know:

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I couldn't start the BFL this week but I am def. going to start it on Monday April 31. I let a friend look at my book because I was hoping she would start it with me and she had my book for a week and then didn't say anything about doing it. So needless to say I wasn't organized. So how is everyone doing that started? I hope all is well.

Lisann - I did start it Monday, I'm on day 3 now. Its hard getting out of bed at 5 am, but so far I'm doing it.

My eating has been pretty good, not following the BLF eating exactly, one reason with my band, I can't eat as much as they want you to, however, I am trying to eat something every 3 hours.

I'm pumped up about completing this. When you start, keep us updated on your progress. I'm keeping my menu, my exercises and my daily thoughts and stuff in my journal.

I wanted to update anyone who is interested. I started the challenge on 4/23/07 (reluctantly). I actually was afraid to start the challenge knowing that I never finished in the past. But I started it.

I am now almost 1/2 way finished. I am AMAZED at my results in just the 4 weeks - I am shaping up quite nicely. My curves are coming back.

I pumped up the intensity on week 5, added lunges and squats to my lower body work out (LBWO). I couldn't even sit on the toilet without pain after adding them (but this is a good kind of pain). I am now on my 6th week and on Sunday I will have reached my 1/2 way mark.

I can honestly say that this is the first time that I have made it this long without missing one exercise session.

For anyone interested, I highly recommend doing the challenge. I'm totally hooked on the program! I am hooked on exercise, and I might even say I'm addicted! I go to the gym before I go to sleep at night (even if I've already exercised) to do 30 or 45 min on the treadmill. It is really relaxing to me before going to bed. I so proud of myself for starting the challenge. I will be jumping up with joy when I complete my challenge, it will be the very first time to complete it so that is my main goal, to complete the challenge!

I took my before pic in a bikini - really scary. But I'm glad I did. I took my 4 week progress photo and I was shocked at how much progress I made in just 4 weeks. I can't wait to take my 8 week photos to see even more results. I won't be a super model at the end of the 12 weeks, but It will be a start for a new and healthy me.

I plan on doing this challenge, and then I will go on my cruise in August, and when I get back, I plan on starting another challenge. (around August 20th which will end November 12th(just in time for Thanksgiving). So anyone interested, give me a holler!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
