I'm new to bariatric pal and this is my first post. I was sleeved on June 2nd. 15 days post op and I'm down 30 pounds already but I am worried that I'm not getting any nutrients in. I have only been able to tolerate some liquid, Jello, popsicles, and applesaue. Any advice?

Having pain after this surgery is normal. It will get better day by day.

Don't eat anymore ice cream. That's not a good way to start your journey. I had to throw that stuff out of the house because I was afraid of giving in to my cravings.

Good luck!

Hi guys :)

My surgery was June 9th. I am down 10 lbs but still very bloated and tired. I take a nap every day and get 10 hours of sleep each night.

I have been able to keep everything down. I have been eating puree Soup and doing well with it.

I also have been able to get my Water in easily. Protein Shakes are a different story. I'm only drinking 1-2 per day.

I was sleeved on June 3rd. Still on what they call pre-select foods (fruitless yogurt, refried Beans, soft eggs, etc.) and Protein Drinks. The only one I found that I can stand is the Atkins Low Carb w/ 15g per shake. I tried Isopure before surgery and it was ok, but for some reason, now I can't stand it...and we loaded up on it. Great! I keep trying one every few days to see if it goes down any better. Getting better at the water/clears, but still not close to 64oz - maybe 48 on a good day.

Did anyone hit a stall at around 2 weeks?

I haven't had any movement for 4 or 5 days. I know my body could be catching up; but I guess I just didn't expect a stall this soon. I'm down 25 pounds since the start, and 14 pounds since day of surgery. Am I having to great of expectations? Trying to get more walking in, but I'm just now starting to feel half way normal again. Still having some pain around the big incision; how long before that goes away? Still hurts to bend over completely and I have 2 small kids I have to take care of - so there have been instances where I've had to move them. My whole rib cage feels like I got beat up! :) Thanks all!

My surgery was June 9th and I am 8 days post op. As each day goes by I am able to drink a bit more fluids. Should this be cause for concern that I have already started to stretch my new stomach?

Tell us a little bit more about yourself. How have your Fluid intakes been? Are you following the clear/full liquid stages? Are you walking in increments up to 40 mins a day? Are you a lower start BMI? All of these things can impact your weight loss...

Mistake!!!!!!

Yesterday i boiled veggies and blended them with a skinless chicken leg, strained the mix and added chicken broth.< /p>

Had about 15 oz throughout the day....

Ive been insanely bloated since yesterday to the point that i cannot even sip Water, its almost painful to do.. Don't want to force my self because i know overeating can cause leaks!!!!

I am 7 days post op now and don't know what caused all this... Maybe its the chicken?

Any suggestions?

No. It just means you are healing and your sleeve swelling is going down.

My surgery is on June 10th. I am so afraid that part of me want to back out, but i know that i cannot.

I have 4 daughters and the youngest is 4 years old. I am so scared about the dangers of surgery.

How are you post-ers feeling? what has been the most challenging part of your recovery?

How did you do? I too was scheduled for June 10th

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
