You're so vain...

Absolutely! I had/have no weight related issues. Granted I knew it was inevitable at the rate I was going that they would arise and soon. I'm 24 years old, I hate being fat. I want to have a family some day. And I was tired of being the pretty face. I want to be gorgeous damn it. And not gigantic.

Lol, guess it goes without saying that everybody here cares at least a little about their appearance...ok more than a little

Yes I admit it! I had no health issues going in besides obese, but no other complications so I will admit I was motivated by sheer vanity! And I love shopping now, there are so many better options. And I don't hide from the camera I even take selfies lol!

I will also raise my hand :-/ I had no health issues yet, other then knee and back pain. Being over 300 lbs that's to be expected. Otherwise BP was good, sugars good, etc... I knew it wouldn't be long before I started having issues tho. Plus my very obese uncle's death was an eye opener...

Overall tho, I really wanted to be happy with my appearance. I wanted to be comfortable going shopping. I really wanted to stop feeling like I was being judged everywhere I went. I wanted to get married and start a family with my bf, but I could imagine having everyone staring at me for a whole day...

My health reasons were eventual, but certainly going to be an issue. My vanity was the main one for doing it now... Plus I just got tried of all the failed diet attempts. There's a point where 15 years of failed dieting is enough!

Absolutely! My main motivation is my health, but I would also like to feel attractive again too. I would like to have confidence in myself again and not try to hide my body because I am ashamed of how much weight I have gained.

Other then being morbidly obese I had no other health problems. My father however is also morbidly obese and I am honestly surprised he is still with us. He has had double heart bypass. He needed a quadruple bypass but they couldn't find enough good veins to use because he is so large. He also has diabetes and many other weight related health problems. I could see myself going down his path and I wasn't going to have it. I am post op 4 months. Down 80 lbs. I am one pound away from dropping into the overweight category. So happy. Want to lose 30 more pounds. And yes. I love the attention. People complimenting me telling me how great I look. Started wearing makeup again and buying cute clothes. It's hard to feel beautiful when you feel like a whale.

I am totally doing this to be more attractive. Other that being obese I didn't have many problems either. At 20, I decided to do the procedure now instead of trying to traverse the college dating scene at 450 lbs... it's not easy at all. And I was tired of dealing with the superficial guys that I met. Its gonna be nice to feel as attractive as people tell you.

50 lbs ago I wanted surgery so I could look better. now since I have been gaining so much, so quickly I have never been more uncomfortable in my life! No health problems so far but I want, more than anything, to be active with my kids.i want to jump into living life actively instead of watching everyone else. I want to walk up stairs and not be winded. I want to tie my shoes without holding my breath and jump up from the floor easily and effortlessly. I want to go for a run! :) Of course, looking good is immediately next in line to feeling good, for me. I can't wait to be with my husband with the lights on! Haha it's been years! Wow... And I'm dying to go shopping in the regular sizes. Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday and I cannot wait! :)

Although I've always thought she was a stunner, after 11 months and 80 lbs., my wife feels as beautiful on the outside, as she is on the inside!

There's nothing wrong with wanting to look attractive...confidence is attractive on a lady!

Gotta go...I'm heading out the door to take my hottie dancin', gotta show off a pretty gal....."wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble baby, wobble..."! ;)

Yes, so I hear it all the time, "I'm having this surgery because I want to lose weight and gain my health back"... but what I really want to know is, where is that person inside you that is doing it so you can be more attractive? I won't lie, I hated being fat. I did not feel pretty and I do feel a million times better being smaller. I even float across the floor better if that makes sense. I fit my clothes better, I can find a lot cuter clothes and I like shopping and doing make-up. They don't call me "diva" for nothing. I like taking pictures and I like having pretty hair and nails and lots of bright outfits. I love it when my husband tells me I'm beautiful. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with that, because on the inside I am kind, considerate and loving. I will never berate anyone and will always put my hand out to help anyone up, without question.

When it comes down to it, it will always be how you treat yourself as well as others, and sometimes looking our best helps us feel better about treating others and ourselves better. As long as you have a good heart and always remain respectful then who cares if you like to look good.

Anyone else out there willing to admit they have a bit of a narcissistic side?

:P

I do!!!! I know I will get rid of my diabetes and that is great, but YES!!!! I was to have a fabulous body and I want to look beautiful and being fat I will never be that way!

2 Days Till Surgery!   It's time! Time to start my clear liquids! I am prepared! Tomorrow I will only take in clear protein, bone broth and jello for the next two days.   My surgery will be done on Monday, December 9th at 8:00 AM. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM (EWWW) but who cares? LOL. Funny how you don't get all upset about doing things that are not so fun when you are doing it for a purpose! . I don't plan on doing much this weekend. I have one errand to do and after that is over I will return to my hotel room and go into prayer and meditation. Believer or not, you got to do what you need to do in order to get your heart and mind in a healthy place. . I have a Pre-Op drink I ordered that is supposed to really help your body hydrate before surgery. It's not in the photo just because I don't have it in my hands yet. I will put photos of it up when I get it. . All I can think about it how blessed I am to be able to get this done. I know how it feels to be healthy and happy then have it snatched away. It makes this all the more joyful for me. . So, it's time to lay it down and start letting my mind process what we are getting ready to do. . By the way...funny story. My doc said he had to cancel a surgery because his patient said she thought "Mashed Potatoes" was a clear food! Um, there will be no mashed potatoes for me! LOL This is HAPPENING! . Last thought for today: I knew when they drew my blood yesterday it was going to leave a nasty bruise and I was right. I am so sensitive to that kind of stuff.

That photo looks like one of my phlebotomy jobs. lol

Cold no.2 since surgery. The funny part is now Ive lost my voice. I feel better in my sinuses now, but my voice is 90% gone. Losing your voice as a person who talks as a teacher for a living is so funny. You feel normal and when you speak, nothing comes out. I hope it goes over by Monday, but if it doesn't oh well. Ill be at school and cant talk to the students. Oh gee darn.

I hope it gets better. I sing and I know how it is to lose your voice. I always get scared that it won't come back. LOL but it always does. Try Fisherman's Friend. It's nasty but it works. You can find it on amazon.

Ohh..I love fisherman's friend..especially the sugar-free ones. Here, we can get it in all the shops. They are strong though.

Got my haircut today and its always amazing how much better i feel afterwards.
i have always considered it an odd thing that i enjoy a haircut so much.
The smell of the barbershop (no salons allowed) and the whole scissors and clippers feel and sound is so relaxing.
I have had the same barber since 1987 and i am not sure how i will handle it if that guy ever dares to die on me. I am pretty sure that the magazines on the bottom of the stack are the same ones from my first visit.
just started Ron Powers -Mark Twain Biography- enjoying it
