Im feeling depressed about the surgery I keep saying im going to do it

I just dont know how to deal with work.

Im seeing a therapist doing food journal, and emotion diary.

Have your Protein Shakes at work and figure out what you can have at home. Easy-peasy. Let go of the cookies! Do not make this harder than it is. Supplement with SF popsicles and broth at home. Drink Crystal Light (Peach Tea is Yum!) by the gallon. June is almost here and you can so do this!!!!!!!!

I don't understand what the problem is, honey?

Can you give us a bit more information?

If you don't want to eat at the private house, do as Linda says? Bring your own food - Protein shakes and maybe some deli meat?

Tell us a bit more and maybe we can help you better? x

Many people work in offices where food and Snacks are plentiful as well and are very successful. You can do this!

As others have said, bring your own food and shakes, Snacks and drinks. Don't let yourself get caught at work with nothing to eat or drink that is on plan. :)

I'm in a business where people want to invite me over, and then expect me to eat or try whatever they serve - it's nerve wracking and so right now (4 weeks post op) I'm just dodging the invites and declining food saying things like "I just ate" or "Not on my food plan - but thanks," etc.It sounds like you're feeling tempted by what's there and encouraged to eat it - so hard, I know!

So here's my suggestions:

Chew sugarfree gum (if you can stand it - I can't) or keep SF mints in your pocket so that your mouth isn't watering for the foods like Cookies. Cookies do NOT taste good with gum in your mouth for example.

Keep hand lotion going - you won't want to touch food with something fragrant and lotion-like on your hands, and it'll give you that nano-second pause to reconsider if you really truly need to eat whatever it is.

Put lisptick on - same reasons as above. Remember this is temporary, and after the surgery most of us aren't feeling so much driven to eat and snack right away. It's been long enough for me that it feels like i'm starting to break the cycle.

Keep herb tea (only really good stuff!) in your pockets so you have an alternative close to hand for something that DOES taste good.

And like everyone else says, bring your own stuff to work. Even divide your shakes in half to give you more meal-breaks to enjoy them. And if they aren't tasty enough to enjoy them, order different ones. I love Unury, for example.

Make small goals - "I can get to two hours without indulging" or I can get to lunch without a cookie" or "I can walk through that room and PAST that plate!" and then mentally pat yourself on the back for it.

Good luck on this - you can do it. Really!

I think you hit a panic moment but don't let it sink you. You are still pre-op. If you ate a couple of Cookies at their house it's truly not a huge deal considering you seem to be managing to keep all else on track, including exercise. This doesn't mean you will be a failure post-op. Remember, post-op you'll have the small stomach and appetite on your side. Plus, even then, there is a company www.protifoods.com that actually sell cookies. There are different types but they are around 90 calories, 1 gm fat, 4 carbs and 15 gm of Protein. You could have 1 in an "emergency". Heck, they have a pizza, Soups, etc. for those moments. The world is changing...there are tons of support options to help us! Hang in there :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
