congrats..you are on your way to getting better and starting to have the chance to figure out what suits you and what does not....This is the fun part! :)

Chicken wing..is there protein in a chicken wing or mostly skin. I would stick to proteins that can add protein grams to your diet.. Chicken wings is mostly pure fat.

What? I think there is more fat in wing meat than in breast meat. But breast meat is a lot drier and my surgeon even told me to eat dark meat first.

Good for you. Isn't it funny how such a small amount of food likes an accomplishment?

I spent good money at whole foods to make sure my wings are not full of fat & steroids, lol my wings average 10-12 grams per wing. & i don't eat the skin.. ;)

My surgeon also warned me to stay away from breast meat for the first 6 months bc it tends to be dry & may cause pouch distress. I don't eat dark meat, never have, so the wing is all that I am left with LOL. My family & I have recently switched to Organic meat & I must say it tastes AMAZING!! Or maybe I was just starving :)

Are you kidding me lol...A debate over a chicken wing and not a brownie. Oh we have to start somewhere ladies and if it is a chicken wing then so be it...eating normally is a great accomplishment in this program. Increasing real food intake is imperative to good health.

I am sure that she will not eat only chicken wings for the rest of her life...I have been known to put down a wing or two myself once in a while. They are darn tasty!

18 months after surgery I still cannot eat beef, pork or chicken breasts and Tuna makes me gag. If it wasn't for dark chicken meat I would be living on cheese and eggs...Or the like... @@Carlotta1 . It is a learning curve to see what you can and cannot tolerate. At this state in the game a chicken wing is good news...However a brownie would have been something for her to worry about! :)

AMEN!!!

Wings and thighs are dark meat. I prefer the thighs. As for chicken breasts I can understand then coming out dry. However, a couple of years ago I decided to brine a turkey. Turkey breats were alway dry, but using a brine before cooking the entire bird comes out very moist. Has anyone tried brining a chicken or pork? A good dry cure on beef helps make it tender.

Whatever......
