  1. Hi everyone. I'm 6 weeks post- op & am just curious as to what others are eating. I ditched the damn Protein shakes & am now eating meat. Chewed verrry, verry slowly, lol. I eat chicken, & shrimp mostly. But I'm still struggling with staying away from carbs. I don't eat any kind bread. However, I find myself eating a bit of Mac & cheese off of my toddlers plates. Im a Pasta girl clearly. Smh. What are you guys eating?

    DAMN!

So my husband ordered pizza for the family tonight & guess who got cocky enough to take a bite of my husbands slice? Yep, me. Ps... I'm writing this from the bathroom floor, bc I've been vomiting for 20 minutes.

@@marfar7 I'm 6 weeks post op. I thought since I was tolerating meats, that a couple bites of pizza wld be o.k. Boy was I WRONG!

    Stuck!

I was sleeved on 4/25 and within the first 2 wks I lost 25 lbs. but i have not dropped anymore pounds since then. It's been 2 wks & I'm stalled at 290 lbs. am I doing something wrong?
  5. I'm so sick of these damn protein shakes! I'm SICK OF THEM.

    Venting.

I have tried like 10 different brands. They just smell awful and the after taste is gross! I'm continually drinking them bc I know I have to. I'm almost 5 weeks out & I can only eat little bits of food at a time. (Like 2-3 bites) and I'm totally full. I'm lactose intolerant, so all the Protein rich cheeses really irritate my stomach. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be sleeved, however at this point I'm feeling like I'm stuck in between a rock & a hard place. Thank you all for listening

    Had surgery on monday

I am praying for you. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, in Jesus mighty name❤️❤️
  10. I was sleeved on 4/25. But for the past week i have been really, really hungry. For example, last nite I woke up from my sleep twice bc I was so hungry. I've learned to distinguish between head hunger & actual hunger bc I totally ignore head hunger (it's hard, but I push thru) I thought the ghrelin (the hormone that causes hunger)was eliminated when we got the sleeve. Did they forget to take my ghrelin? Is anyone else hungry?????

    Hunger.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I love the support on this site. I drink an 8ounce Protein shake almost every day. It takes me the entire day to drink it bc I HATE the taste of Protein shakes (I've tried damn near all brands). Then I spend the rest of the day trying to get in 2-20 ounce bottles of Water. As far as food goes. I nibble on red potatoes & chicken or shrimp all day. I've always bn lactose intolerant, so cheeses are not my friend.
  12. McButterpants: you literally just made me smile, laugh out loud & shed a tear-ALL at the same time. ❤️❤️❤️ You are sooo awesome!!!

    Doing Feeling Great

88 pounds in 3 months??!!! Wow!!!! You are the BOMB!!! What is your eating like? Do you excersise? Please share!!!
  14. I totally know how you feel. I was sleeved on 4/25/14 and 7 days before my procedure my anxiety started going crazy. I couldn't sleep, I was moody & I began to fear the same surgery that I'd been looking forward to for months. I also had a large hernia that I was scared wld cause a problem. I would stay up all night imagining all the things that could go wrong & try to predict how I would be feeling when I awoke from anesthesia.. Try to pray/meditate. Bc the worrying & anxiousness will only rob you of the true excitement of your new Beginning❤️❤️.

    5 days out... too nervous?

Hi! I felt the same kind of paranoia as you. I was sleeved on 4/25/14 & tried to force my Fluid intake. Don't do it. Be kind to yourself. During my first week, my goal was to drink a 20 ounce bottle of Water everyday & at least half of my Protein shake (8 once bottle) . Now at almost 3 weeks post op, I'm drinking 2 20 ounce bottles a day & a full 8 ounce shake.... Bc that's all I can do. I also remember feeling like I was going to pop after a bowl of broth... Lol, sounds to me like you are right on track. ❤️❤️
  16. Amazing!!!! You are Glowing!!! God Bless you❤️❤️
  17. I was sleeved on 4/25. As of Monday I've started walking a 1.5 miles per day on my treadmill. Trying to keep the weight loss going & build back up my energy . Just wondering if anyone else is working out yet?

  19. I'm only 3 weeks post op, but I have noticed major differences in my life. I've already lost 25 lbs. my knees are not in constant pain any longer My back isn't in pain anymore And I no longer sweat like a pig when I'm cleaning my house. Those few things alone, have made the surgery worth having!

    Milestone!

Lmbo, wings & breast are white meat. Legs & thighs are dark meat
  23. Mrs.Fox

    Milestone!

My surgeon also warned me to stay away from breast meat for the first 6 months bc it tends to be dry & may cause pouch distress. I don't eat dark meat, never have, so the wing is all that I am left with LOL. My family & I have recently switched to Organic meat & I must say it tastes AMAZING!! Or maybe I was just starving
