Anyone getting sleeved in July or August? Looking for buddies!

Recommended Posts

I am set to have surgery around the last week in July. I am 29. I am currently 5 foot 7 and 261 so I am looking for someone with similar stats or surgery date to talk to and become friends with to go through this journey with together :)

I have not been scheduled for surgery yet as I still have to wait for that final insurance approval AFTER my 6 months medically supervised diet. But my last appointment is in July. I am hoping to be approved quickly and then get scheduled for surgery late August. I'm new to this. But also wouldn't mind a buddy to chat with to go through my journey.

Yay congrats, I'm new to this as we'll, I have an appointment to meet with the surgeon on May 29, 2014. I'm very excited and I hope everything goes we'll, I'm 25 years old and it's time to get healthy!

I should have surgery around that time, the last thing on my list is a nutrition class on May 19, then after all my paperwork is gathered it will be submitted to insurance for approval. I will add you as a friend. I weigh about 239 lbs but I'm short, 5-2

My last appointment is July 2nd, but my Dr is confident I will have a late July surgery date.

I am about mid way through. I am curious if anyone had/has to lose a certain amount of weight before being approved for surgery? If so, what changes in your day to day eating activities did you make to lose it?

At this rate, I'm looking into a mid to late July date. I just have to complete a sleep study, a bariatric class (both on the same day) and get a letter of support from my doctor. The only thing that's kinda delaying the process is that my doctor is dragging his feet and is being a bit difficult, so I'm scheduled to see another doctor who hopefully is a bit more cooperative.

I'm 26 and 284lbs, ready to start my new journey!

Hello! I have my first consult on June 12, and with my surgeon on the whole it takes about 2 months (it did with my co-worker anyway) so I'm looking at an August date, maybe Sept. I'm 27yo, 5'8", and 277 lbs. If anything, keep us all updated on how it goes for you!!

Hi AbbyFran7. I'm finished with all the pre-evals and meeting with my doctor Tues., May 20 to set a date. Because of prior discussions, I believe that the surgery will be in June or July, but won't know for sure until after next week. I'm 5"7, 250 lbs. This whole process seems unreal to me. Never imagined myself in this place, needing surgery, but glad to be doing something about it that can result in real change and improve my health.

Hi all you Sleeve hopefuls. My name is Pat. I am 53 years young. I have devoted my life to my family, now its time for me. I am trying to get it scheduled around June or July. I have all but one appointment left. Everything is done but the Endoscopy. Its scheduled for the 28th of this month. I am so looking forward to starting my weight loss journey. I need support friends, so please hit me up.

Hi! My surgery is July 9th. I'm 5 ft and 206 pounds. I chose the sleeve but thinking about switching to gastric bypass. Anybody have thoughts on that ?? I also would love to have someone to go through this journey with!!

I am 34, 5'3" and 233. I want the sleeve - all the research I've done pints to trouble and malabsorption. Having 2 young kids, if my 3 year old wants to feed me a bite of her birthday cake I don't want to get sick and puke like you would with dumping syndrome. I plan to stay away from sweets and sugar obviously but I want to live "normally". :) Do some research and attend a support group! Best wishes. Oh and looking at the week after July 4th for surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
