Is anyone else terrified even paranoid of getting a blood clot? My legs have been sore to the touch within the last few days. I saw my family doctor yesterday who after asking some questions and checking them out, feels that my soreness is not due to my surgery or to having a blood clot. I have to say I am still terrified. Every little pain or different sensation I feel I think, "Is that what a blood clot feels like?" I know I'm freaking myself out here but I cant help it.

I exercise and get up and walk or stand in the kitchen all the time. I am aware of the importance of exercising and do so but it doesn't stop my fear.

I am highly paranoid of getting a blood clot also. A felt a weird tingling in my leg last night while laying in the bed and starting freaking out.

There is a blood test that can be done to give you a good idea if you have one...I think if the Dr. says you are fine, you probably are...hotness, swelling, and redness are common signs of a blood clot. God Bless!!!

I had symptoms that the Docs thought might be clots, so I went to the emergency room. They ran a few tests and all was fine. But I was really scared for a bit.

I had surgery 4/24 and that was one of my biggest concerns. The surgeon reassured me it was very rare, especially for bariatric surgeries. Here are the things I'm doing to prevent them:

-Lovenox shot 1x/day. Dr had no problem prescribing it, even though I wasn't at any increased risk for getting clots

-Statin 1x/day. I take this for high cholesterol but found out that they are noticing that statins decrease blood clot risk!

-I get up and walk around at least once every 2 hours. I also make sure to walk around the block a few times per day for exercise.

-I bought one of the things that blows up your legs while you sleep on ebay. It was used and only $150.

. I too freaked out about blood clots! So paranoid. I was doing the blood thinner shots twice daily and walking a ton. But one lil pain in my leg had me freaking out. Keep watch, walk, massage calves. The symptoms of blood clots in legs can be found online. I'm sure your just fine!! You have been through a lot and just paranoid of a set back.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
