Psych evaluation in the morning

Recommended Posts

Me and my friend are both having our psychiatric evaluations in the morning...we are at a hotel because we live a couple of hours away and my appointment is at 7:45 a.m. I will let you know how it works!

Weird you say that...I'm lying in this hotel room wondering if I can really go through with it...the surgery! Am I just wasting my time? The world will still go on with me being overweight. Losing weight sounds wonderful and I am tired of being ashamed of the way I look and feel, but is it worth the counting, tracking, watching etc. and that's with everything going smoothly. Someone mentioned heart palpitations if you don't drink enough??? Seems like I will be more obsessed with food after surgery. I will let you know my progress!

Psych evaluation was pretty basic...I talked to the psychologist for an hour...we talked about what I knew about the surgery, did I understand I could die, loose skin, support system, drug or alcohol use and diet and exercise. After I had a about a thirty minute questionnaire!

My psych eval is next Wed. They said it will be a three hour visit! I cannot image what we are going to talk about.

Mine went well, I guess. She talked about the surgery some, and my weight, some. Mostly she talked about the stress in my life. A whole hour about bills, traffic, relationships and obligations and my siblings. Not too impressed. Gotta go back next week and fill out a 250 questionnaire to see if I am angry or depressed...(What??) I was thinking before I left the office, "And I missed General Hospital for this?"....

My psych eval was Monday. It was ok. It lasted 1 hour. The doctor and I just talked. He took a lot of notes....asked me about my life, starting from the beginning to now. Of course we also spoke about the surgery and what I expected it to do for me. I did the questionnaire prior to visiting him (he emailed it to me so I could have it done before the visit). Pretty simple. Shouldn't be anything to worry about! Good luck!

My eval was pretty basic I answered about 1000+ questions about depression, suicide, healthy eating, support and addiction. Then I talked to the Dr. For about 10 mins he asked my highest weight, where my husband worked, if I knew I would look and feel different after the surgery and that's about it. Good luck everyone :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
