You should get clearance from your Doc. Most require at least 30 days.

I had my surgery April 14 and I have lost 20lbs, already dde33 Now I am ready to hit the gym! Did anyone hit the gym 2 weeks out??

I was in the gym 2 weeks out. Kept it at the elliptical, treadmill, 5 lb weights and resistance bands.

I was cleared for swimming 1 week after surgery. No lifting for a month. I was able to do treadmill 2 weeks after surgery. Definetly don't want to push it too soon and cause any damage inside or out. I was bummed at first. But glad I waited. I am 17 weeks post op. I have lost a total of 180 lbs. 65 pre-op. 115 post-op. Its all good!! Best if luck to you on your journey.

180?!!!! That is amazing!! Congrats!! Ok, I love to swim! I think I will try swimming next week and maybe walking a mile.

Cool your jets Diva.......your enthusiasm is great, but you need to ease into the more rigorous exercises. There is still quite a bit of healing going on in there. Start slow and work up to it as your body adapts. ;)

I too had surgery on 4/14 . So at 2 weeks I was told not to lift more than 15 lbs so I can do little 5 lbs weights and I can walk use the treadmill and use the elliptical. At my month appt the doc will let me know if I am ready to advance.
