I'm also having a hard time getting in my fluids. I also have a little pain-it's actually kind of sharp. It doesn't last long, I'm not sure what's causing it though. Mine usually happens when I'm trying to eat something. It kinda feels like a gas bubble, but I don't know. Maybe I'm taking too big of bites? Or too close together? After a second or two it goes away. My post op apt is Thursday, I plan on asking then.

Ask and let me know!! lol My follow up appointment isn't until June 9th! I told my husband that I didn't know if the pain meant I was drinking/eating to fast or if it means I'm full or what exactly it means. But I'm glad I'm not the only one it happens to. Mine doesn't last long either but it makes me not want to take too many drinks/bites.

My first week weight loss was only 5 pounds. I'm a little but disappointed! I'm not sure if this is due to the discrepancy in the scale at the hospital and here at home. Anyone else feeling discouraged?

Hey better to loose than gain! Let that be our motto lol. I hear as weeks go by you loose more weight weekly. Keep your head up it will fall off in time!

Can I ask how far out you are? What do you get to have bites of? So jealous lol

I'm a week out...I've had cream of wheat with stevia, Protein, and cinnamon, vanilla Greek yogurt, a tiny bit of the inside of a deviled egg on Memorial Day, sugar free pudding, and a nibble of cheese that my dad just smoked. It was still warm and gooey so it was pretty much pudding consistency. All without any trouble :)

That's awesome! I'm on full liquids another 10 days... Then purée for 2 weeks, then soft for 2 weeks! Amazing how different the surgeons are as far as diets

So today is the first day I felt what I think is hunger! Which really concerns me considering my current diet is strictly shakes . I was ok'd to have a little low sodium chicken broth which helped a little... Hoping to not feel hungry again.., sigh! Getting in all my liquids with no problem..

Could I have stretched my sleeve already?! Ugh,,, can't even go there!

Anyone else hungry?

I've had a little bit of head hunger but that's it. I doubt you stretched your stomach just by drinking shakes. That's awesome you're getting in all your fluids, I wish I could!! I started purée foods Tuesday and the only thing my stomach likes is cottage cheese, but I'm fine with that! I love cottage cheese!! lol

Lol. It's funny, I felt what I think was hunger also. I drank my Protein Shake and it went away. I am still trying to figure out when im full. I had like five bites of chicken noodle Soup. I think I was full but it so confusing. I can get in lots of liquid but I know that slides right through. Although when I dink my Protein shake I can tell when I don't want anymore but it's after about 9 ounces of sipping. I don't know it's all weird. Lol. I hope t can tell if I'm full after I really start eating food. It takes a lot of adjusting I suppose we will get the hang of it.

I'm sure it's partial head hunger which I'm making worse by agonizing over it lol

Hi everyone! So 9 days out! Had my post op visit with the surgeon. Hr did an X-ray , everything looked good, and I'm down 13 lbs since surgery.

Happy about that!

Not so happy about 10 more days of Liquid Protein, but it is what it is!

How's everyone else feeling?

Hey guys! Had my post op apt tonight...lost 12lbs! They cleared me to advance and take my Vitamins. I asked about that pain I'm having when I'm eating...they said it's either because I'm taking too much in or I'm not giving it enough time between bites. So I tried Soup when I got home and still had it :( I literally just put enough in to coat my mouth.

How big of sips/bites are you taking? How long do you wait in between each bite? Anyone else have lots of little burps or hiccups? I feel retarded like I can't feed myself properly lol

I have pain if I take too big of a swallow, but I know it from the hernia repair because its in the same spot where the pain was right after surgery and my doc explained I would feel that.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
