Ok, I am 1 month out and today I had me first experience with dumping..... Funny thing is, today was the first day I got to eat Cereal and I got Special K Protein plus and it was no bueno:( I was so excited to eat cereal and am a little crushed. Anybody have this experience and what foods triggered it? I'm scared to eat anything but egg whites and cottage cheese:/

I have followed my doctors plan explicitly and have had no dumping, cereal is a calorie/carb hog with little Protein and you probably should avoid it

I am 11 months out and had one full episode of dumping. Generally, I can feel when I am full because my enjoyable meal turns into a horrible meal. So I stop eating at this point. I know what one bit more will do. Focus on foods with Protein, low on sugar and maximize experimentation.

Sorry you experienced dumping, I know the feeling of not knowing quite what to eat after experiencing it. My NUT recommended that brand of Special K, and I've no problems with it. Did you use low fat milk? Have anything alongside the Cereal?

I know Special K Protein cereal is a good protein source. We all can dump on different things. What will affect me won't affect you and visa versa. If you really liked it, wait a while, then try it again in a much smaller amount. I personally can't eat cereals by themselves but I like Special K protein mixed into my Greek yogurt. Bear Naked Protein granola is good in yogurt too. Good luck!

I have heard this phrase a lot, everyone is different. I am 14 months out, and there are things I wasn't able to eat before that I can now. My doctor suggested putting aside the "offensive" food item, and try it again in a few weeks. It could have been the milk or the cereal individually, you just never know. Try it again, in a small amount, in a few weeks.

I'm allowed to try oatmeal and cream of wheat in week 2. My mother said she could not stomach either of those for several years. Same with Pasta and bread. It just shows how different we all are and how differently good will affect us.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
