Today show "skinny meals"

Recommended Posts

Wow, I'm watching The Today Show and saw a segment on low cal meals. The size of the servings was absolutely HUGE! The biggest thing I've learned on this journey is Portion Control and here is a diet 'guru' telling people to eat a huge volume of food. I get the we have an advantage in this battle but it was thinking like that that was my down fall!

Oh, I soooo agree. I was all about the quantity, and not even necessarily the quality of the foods I ate. That was definitely my downfall. I can honestly say that for decades, I ate a SECOND helping of an already OVERSIZED portion of food, almost every single night of my life. TWO PLATES of food, every single night. Thankful to lapband for helping limit the amount of food I can eat. Thankful to myself for letting me finally realize quality is much more important than quantity.

I was a volume eater, too. The size of the salads I ate were enough for a family and by the time I added avocado, cheese, sunflower seeds, olive oil dressing, etc., I probably exceeded the calorie allotment I have now for a whole day. But then of course I was still hungry, even after all that. I was always seeking the elusive feeling of fullness and I am so grateful to have that built into me now. Satiety, yippee!

Sometimes I watch what other people are eating and I just can't believe it -- and of course that was me just six months ago, going back for more. No more!

Yep...Mr too. If it was good didn't matter of I had enough it was so I have run for more. I realize that part of this journey is dealing with the psychological journey. No more see it and eat it....sensory hunger...time for me to get my psyche involved in this process I saw the segment and liked his premise. Might need to tweak it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
