How are you all keeping track of your Fluid intake? Paper and pencil? Remember it in your head? Phone app? What?

I just keep my Water in 32 oz bottles and try to finish one daily right now, with hopes to increase soon but I'm still only 6 days post op currently so I know it will take a while. I also drink 2 small cups of green tea but still have a hard time getting all the water in.

I would like to hear from 1 person who got down 64 oz week one post op. I'm beginning to think its impossible. I don't have any problems with swallowing or pain but I still can't seem to get the liquids in. Come on sleevers give us some hope. Is there one among us who got down the 64 oz week one post op. Lol. I mean u have to actively think about drinking.

I've been able to do it.... me and my Water bottle are attached at the hip! :)
. This great to hear. I think I just can't get past the lack of thirst or huger that I'm used to telling me to drink or eat. I keep a bottle close by I just don't want it. All that I've got in has been because I forced it and I'm still not nearly there may be 32 oz tops. But on a good note I can drink Protein shakes if I think about which I know people are having trouble with. I'm no quitter I'm gonna keep trying. Thx for giving me hope that it can in fact be done.
Do you know that counts towards your 64oz? Well at least that is what my doc says.

Are there any rules about chewing gum. I know it serves no purpose diet wise but I've always done it and now the urge to do it is back. I just want to make sure it won't like cause gas issues with swallowing to much air or something, the same question about straws?? Thx

I don't know about gum, but I know straws are out. They will cause us to swallow too much air, and it seems to me take swallows that are too big (I'm still having to take little sips).

Today is definitely better than yesterday as far as being able to drink, I'm thinking it should all be downhill from here. :)

@ Ang6904. My surgery was on April 22 as well. Have you tried to suck on a popsicles, chicken noodle broth, Jello. That worked for me. Pain wise how Are you feeling? Keep positive thoughts you will get over this hump. Best of luck?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
