10 Days With No Food. Lord!

Today is my first day on all liquids, and I do believe my stomach is touching my back! This is really going to be a challenge. I don't understand how some don't have to do the pre-op diet, some do one or two days, and I'm doing two weeks. I'm just going to keep my eyes on the prize. 4/15 is my surgery date, which is also tax day. So essentially, Uncle Sam will be in my pocket whilst Dr. Wooldridge is in my gut. Men are so greedy.

I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, chicken broth, sf Jello and Water for lunch and drank water all day. I ran back and forth to the restroom so much that I thought of moving my desk there. When I got home I was so hungry I hurried and had a Protein Shake. I guess I'll have vegetable broth, Jello and more water and imagine that I'm at Olive Garden eating my fav Chicken and Gnocchi Soup. If anyone can add ideas to this diet, they'd certainly be appreciated. :)

Wow! Thanks for posting! These sound delicious!!

Congrats on making the decision to sleeve! I to have the same surgery date of 4/15, and like you I have to be on the two week liquid diet to. I guess because it will shrink my liver.

Day 2 was CRAZY for me, I was so hungry! but day 3 was way better. Im on day 7 now and just putting my head down and pushing forward. No I'm never fully satisfied with the shakes, but I know I can do this. Like someone else said on here, pressing on to keep my eye on the prize!

I find that sugar free popsicles really help and if you eat a cup of jellow before a shake, that helps me to feel more satisfied. Anyway good luck!

Day 5 now and things are going pretty well. I usually end up eating my meal around 6 which had helped me out a lot. Upset a little bc Premier Protein is the shake I like the best and can't find more anywhere!!! I've been to all the stores I recently shopped at grabbing things to prepare and none of them have any. It's really quite odd. I know it was only one place and maybe someone came in and bought all that was on the shelf since I last went. So I'm choking down the other brands I bought to get by. Tried a different frozen dinner last night and it was pretty good. Had my salad with it and felt satisfied. Three more days of this diet and then I start my last 48 hours of liquid only. We'll see how that goes.

I went to the grocery store last night bc I still need to feed my son. I was happy to see how Id look at stuff and something's would make me say "ohh that sounds good" but nothing made me really hungry or slip up. Really pleased with that.

Over all I'm not really hungry anymore I do just miss eating food all day long. I've been chewing sugar free gum to satisfy that chew need.

We are getting closer ladies!! Those of us with 4.15 dates a week from now we'll be a day post-op!!!!

My liquid diet will be 3 weeks starting 4/24. Tomorrow I will substitute one meal for a protein shake. Next week two meals. I have cut out soda and sweets.... hopefully I won't go through to much withdrawal.

I cut out sugary foods simple carbs and caffeine and I didn't have a headache or go through withdrawals thank god but my daughter on the other hand continued having her Starbucks right up until the day before and she paid royally with nasty caffeine withdrawal. Good job on stopping those things in advance I think it makes a world if a difference in terms of withdrawal symptoms at least for me it did anyway.
