Honestly, lots of times I'll just have something sweet (about 5 dark chocolate covered peanuts or something). When I was active-losing I would have a sugar free ice Popsicle (they take a few minutes to eat and solve both sweet and liquid). And if I have a sweet craving that I want to quelch and not give in to for some reason, I will munch a large dill pickle. It works, and only a few calories!

Hi

Look for if you can find them Bomb Pops sugar free Popsicles made with Splenda they really work for me.

Quest Protein Bars have 20g of Protein with them. They are sweetned with Stevia with is a natural sugar from a plant that won't make you sick like sugars.

My nutritionist recommends them to have.

There is a sugar free hard candy that I have tried that is very satisfying called Petite Deceit. You can find them on Amazon.< /strong>

Good luck in your search.

Decaf coffee with Splenda - it's sweet, filling, increases my Fluid intake and numerous studies have shown that it's healthy and safe in reasonable quantities. Decaf tea would have all the same advantages and possibly even healthier. Crystal light and Nestle Pure Life Splash are also great options. I add Splenda to unsweetened almond milk and it is terrific and has 50% more Calcium than dairy milk. liquids make a terrific bridge between meals when you're "hungry" and it's not time for your next meal or snack.< /p>

For chewy and if you're at the solid food stage, Protein bars are sweet and obviously give you the important added Protein (I like Pure Protein Bars and shakes). And you don't have to eat the whole bar - I sometimes eat a quarter or half of a bar and save the rest for later. My wife makes Splenda coated walnuts that are baked in the oven (Splenda is oven safe) and they are delicious. Virtually all nuts are healthy but watch the portions carefully - they are high in calories.

Again depending on what food stage you're at, fruits and melons are rich in natural sugars and healthy. Start with very small amounts until you know whether you are susceptible to dumping. I once dumped on a handful of red grapes. But I've never had a problem with cantaloupe, watermelon or honeydew melons.

Quaker also makes mini rice cakes in a number of sweet flavors including chocolate. I prefer their savory flavors but all are relatively low in calories and quite filling.

Surgery teaches you to get used to reading food labels (it's all about lifestyle changes) and when you do, there is a surprisingly wide variety of healthy alternatives to meet almost any taste preference!

I second the Steevia mention above -- I don't do artificial sweeteners and love Steevia because it's plant-based. If you go this route, make sure you get 100% Steevia because some manufacturers are mixing it with things like Maltodextrine or other chemicals, which to me is the opposite of the whole idea. Hello!

I like Jello sugar free puddings and mousses, Starbucks skinny mocha latte tall Decaf (sugar free nonfat), swiss miss diet hot cocoa, or one of my tastier Protein Shakes (syntrax Matrix Peanut Butter cookie is delish).

I say, at least for me, be careful if you're trying other substitutes sometimes. I've tried some of the alternatives when I'm craving chocolate pure and simple... In the end, when 1-2 small dark squares would have sufficed; I would end up with a handful of nuts, something else salty and then probably 4-5 milk chocolate squares, lol.

Sometimes though there's a tazo tea made from cocoa nibs (I think). It's cocoa mint or something like that and gives me a chocolate taste without the calories.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
