hey everyone! I just posted a new topic asking what steps to take for approval. In two days I will have completed my required 90 day documented diet and my weight loss coordinator said "we'll go from there". I am a planner and I need to know what comes next. I know I have to have a psych eval and a letter from my pcp...but what else? And how long after the approval date was your surgery date?

My insurance required. Psychologist and psychiatric analysis, stress test, blood work, ultrasound, upper gi, sleep study, nutritionist consult, chest x-ray, and to attend a seminar going over the options available for surgery. I have the nutritionist left and chest x-Ray. July is my month for surgery, should be anyways. Still awaiting results from sleep study and blood work. But discovered I need gallbladder surgery. That is Friday!

What's required vary depending on ur insurance company. I have UHC and they required a 6 month supervised diet in the Healthy Weight program, BMI of 40 or 35 with co-morbidities, psych eval, recommendation letter from PCP, weight documented at physician office in the beginning and at the end. I was approved in 3 days once my surgeon office submitted my info and my surgery date was already scheduled before I actually got approved.

Also my surgeon office is scheduling a month out some surgeons offices don't have such a wait once ur approved.

I have Blue Shield of California through CALPers and they required 6 months of weigh ins, full blood panel, psych eval, EKG, Endoscopy, Chest X-ray, Pap smear, seminar, nutrition class, support group, consultation, and after all that was done they submitted my paperwork to insurance and I was approved the next day. I have one more blood panel todo before surgery, 2 week preop diet and my date is 5/7 at 6:30 am

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
