Yvimac congrats you and I have the same surgery date and time yippie.

I got my call this morning. I am on day one of my three day liquid diet. I have to check in at the hospital by 8:30 am Monday morning. That puts surgery around 10:30.

So far I have not really been hungry yet. My brother is getting his BA tonight and having an open house tomorrow to Celebrate. I know there will be food at both of these functions so they will probably be the most challenging part of my weekend.

I am really nervous about the surgery. I hate the waiting period. But I want this!!!!! I am so ready to be able to live my life again without all the pain that comes from carrying around, what amounts to, an extra person 24X7. That is my driving factor. Everything else that comes with it are bonuses.

I have been thinking of all of you who have already had surgery this week. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with the rest of us. It does help.

It amazes me how different all the doctors are when it comes to the recommendations for pre-op dieting. My dr asked me to go on a high protein/low carbohydrate diet a month ago. I have lost close to 15 pounds on that. Now the 3 day liquid diet. I am interested to see how much I lose in three days.

The nurse at the hospital recommended wearing the clothes to the hospital that I will be wearing home. To wear something comfortable and easy on/off. I will be doing laundry and packing my bag Sunday. Sounds like I won't need a very big bag. LOL

Me too. :) Excited?

. I'm super excited! I'm ready to get the show on the road! You?

I'm doing good but never hungry and have to be reminded to drink my protein, water is your best friend I have learned not crystal light. I have lost 33lbs so far but have stalled for the past 4 days!

My first 3 days, when I woke up in my room I had a lot of pain from the gas they use, the nurse told me that walking will help so right away I tried to get up but still to drugged and felt I was going to pass out right away the nurse put a wet towel on my face and I Fell back to sleep for the rest of the day didn't have anything to drink at all. Next day went for my upper gi test and from then on I was on clear liquids but could not get much at all down. Walking is the most important to my recovery so I would go further each time. By day 3 I would have very little pain meds felt they are to strong, since my surgery was in Houston and live in San Antonio the doctor released till the next morning cause the car ride is about 3 hours long.

May 20th for me!!!!

Me too. :) Excited?

Yes!!! I'm so happy to have made it through this week. I have so much to do over the next few days. What are you going to take with you to the hospital?

Have done really well on preop until tonight :-(. I had the most obvious emotional eating experience after Grad class when some uncomfortable exchanges occurred. I have never been more aware of reaching for food because of anger. I have to look at this as an ah ha moment and not a moment of failure. Hard for us perfectionists.

Tomorrow is another day and I now know to be more mindful of my feelings and their correlation with food.

May 20 th can't come soon enough!
