Anyone having surgery in May

Recommended Posts

I am having surgery May 29th, getting pretty nervous! I am not sure what Vitamins I should be buying can anyone help me with this :)

& FayeJ

Celebrate Multivitamin capsules, 18 mg Iron & 1500 Calcium is what I was told. For the first few days only multivitamin so I don't get constipated. My surgery is May 7th. :)

Thank you, and good luck :)

I am one more night away from surgery...May 5th. I am in Southern California and I have been pursuing the surgery since 2008. Can't believe I am actually a day away. My insurance and medical group required 32 weeks worth of classes and support groups. It was a 3 hour round trip at least once a week but I made it! I am having the bypass and will be kept for a minimum of 48 hours. I am so thankful for this site and to all of you who share your stories. Thanks to you all! Keep sharing and I hope we can continue to help one another through the ups and downs. God Bless You All...

Good Luck Tomorrow, Angelface. My surgery is tomorrow too. I hope everything goes well for both of us!

I'm having my surgery on Monday May 12th. I've been on the liquid diet for 7 days...yesterday I had cottage cheese and an Atkins Meal so i cheated. I guess it wasn't a bad cheat but back on the wagon today. I was just to HUNGRY and felt like i was going to puke all day so i had a little chicken and green Beans. 7 Days till surgery and i'm nervous and excited at the same time. I've already lost about 10 lbs and have been working out 45 min each day.

I am May 13th in CA. Good luck!

My surgery is May 13th. I just ordered all my Vitamins through dietdirect.com and I also ordered biotin! I'm petrified about losing my hair, other than that I feel pretty good about the whole process.

So I've been on the liquid diet for 7 days..7 more to go. Today I had to get my blood drawn to determine my Blood type. I got weighed too and have lost 15LBS on the liquid diet. Surgery is scheduled for next Monday. I only had a few times where I had to put something in my stomach and did. I ate Atkins meals or a small piece of chicken breast. I'm going to try like heck this week to only drink the liquid diet. I"ve been going to the GYM every morning and walking 2 miles. That has made a HUGE difference and believe it or not i'm enjoying it. I feel soo good afterward and love jamming to my 80's music while walking. So total before surgery i'm down 37LBS. Here is to a good week on the liquid diet!!!BTW I HATE sleeping with the CPAP machine I can't wait to get off that stupid thing!

hahaha! I feel ya on that one!! I'm sick of wearing mine too. Just make sure you don't stop using it abruptly -- the sleep study technician I had said that people can start gaining the weight back if they get off the CPAP before they stop having sleep apnea.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
