As far as I know all doctors require that before surgery. Ur are asleep when they do it and don't feel a thing!

Yes, just about everyone has it done. No biggie.

Don't even waste any time stressing about the procedure. Easy-peasy.

It like someone tucking you in at night..........you lay on your side (at least I did. I got scoped both ends) and get comfortable. Then they put this pacifier thingy in you mouth and next thing.........they're taking it out........Waaaaa......is it over? --- "Yep"

Most uneventful nap ever.............. :P

I have my "heads and tails" scheduled for the beginning of April. The prep is far worse than the test. A little of milk of amnesia and you won't remember a thing ????

Yep I had my upper endoscopy (EGD) and the colonoscopy all at the same time. The only thing that hurt was paying for it. It's all to ensure that everything is okay before you are on the surgery table. I'd be afraid of a doctor that didn't require it. Good luck.

I'm having a EGD done also, but mine is going to be done in the office. They told me I would be able to drive myself. I'm a little nervous about that!!! Ah!

That's kinda scary....you're not supposed to drive yourself after having an EGD. This will be my 3rd one (acid reflux issues for years) and all 3 I have had strict instructions that I cannot drive after. In fact, I have to bring my driver to the appointment or they will not do the procedure - I think that is pretty standard. You might want to consider having someone drive you anyway. Good luck to you!

Ladybug, how has the sleeve affected your reflux issues? I am pre-op, and never had a reflux problem until anout a month ago. I don't know if it s all in my head or what. It is worrying me...I don't want it to get worse with the sleeve. I go for my EGD on 4/10.

I was told I wouldn't be able to drive home that I should have someone drive me...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
