Best of luck, NVGirl, phuber40, PghMomof3.. I will be thinking of you, and sending positive thoughts your way.. I am so happy for the three of you.

Hey, fellow May bandsters... can we have a cute name?? Like the April Bandits or Shrinking Violets do.... How about the 'Mayflowers'??? Or, anybody have any other names?? Something we can add to our signature so we can recognize each other when we post in other sections??? (Although, I suppose we'd recognize the surgery date if that's there).. I don't know.. maybe it's cheezy.. it was just an idea...:)

Oh yeh.. I had one other question... those of you May bandsters who've ALREADY been banded... What does your stomach feel like? Do you feel like you have a stomach ache? Do you feel nausous (Spell?).. do you feel completely normal?? I was wondering about that. I hate being nauseous.

Hello all! I'm on for May 21 and am thrilled to have found this place :) I've never had surgery and am a bit scared of the whole process and post op pain even though I work in the medical field and know better

good luck to all who are going this week!

:waytogo:

Marjorie

Hi Marjorie!

I'm on the 21st also! Yes, this is a scary process. At least we have eachother for support! Good luck to you.

Thanks for the tip on the better then boullion. I had no idea it needed to be in the frig after opening, guess I could of read the label . . . duh. I like it better then the others, especially the veg flavor. It's kind of a cross between the beef and the chicken. I'll go put it in there as soon as i'm finished here.

Have you guys heard any more about Macysgranny? I hope it wasn't serious. I will send up some prayers for her, only good thoughts till we hear.

Just finished day four of pre-op and still no movement from the bowels. Should I be getting concerned? I think I'm through the worst of the hunger now. I think my stomach gave up the fight. I might even actually cook for my family this week.

NVGirl, phuber40, pghmomof3 - good luck tomorrow! We will be there with you in spirit with our good thoughts and prayers. come back soon and let us know how it went.

Wen - I think it's great that we have the same name and are being banded on the same day. You spell yours different then mine though. I like the ii at the end.

Jessica - I had better drop some weight tomorrow after walking two days in a row and not cheating even once in the last 4 days!!!

sillywillymommy - I suggested May flowers way back on page 6 of this thread but no one responded. I still like the name! We could put it right under our name and then no matter what thread we were on everybody would know we were part of the May banders. I like it as one word 'Mayflower" and then something catchy like 'bloomin from within' or something like that.

How about the May Miracles? The only reason I don't like the flower references is because the men on this thread may object! LOL

May Miracles doesn't feel right for this non-religious person... and perhaps some others, too.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
