Ok I have a real problem with being OCD. I just started on full liquids this afternoon and I'm already freaking out, second guessing myself... Am I eating too much? How do I know for sure I'm not putting too much stress on my pouch? Anyone else stress abt this or just me?

For those of you who have had surgery, did you find it uncomfortable to sleep in your own bed when you got home? My surgery is Monday and I was wondering if I needed to invest in a wedge or bed rest pillow. I've heard that some people have to sleep in a recliner for the first week or so.

I didn't have a recliner or money to buy one so I slept in a bed. The first two night I slept in the guest bed to keep my dogs away from me and then I moved to my own bed. I used lots and lots of pillows to kind of keep me propped up. I also bought a body pillow to lean on which has been very helpful even though I've had to fight my dogs to keep custody of it at night.
Wallflower your post made me giggle. I have a dog issue too. I have a 167 lb German Shepard that I've kenneled since my surgery. Bringing him home tomorrow. Hope he's not psycho excited, he's like a small pony. Lots of pillows for a few days I guess. Lol.

I've been on a recliner since surgery. I also had to have a Haital Hernia repaired, so I don't want to risk any kind of reflux. Maybe next week I'll get brave and lie flat. (After my follow-up with the surgeon)

I wish I hd words of wisdom for you but all I can say is look how long you worked to be able to have surgery and you're probably just one that's body and emotions are struggling a little bit to adjust to the new you. I'm sure it's difficult but keep the faith and stay positive. This too shall pass. Sending prayers your way sweetie. Hang in there girl. You can do this!!????

have you spoken with your doctor about the nausea? I'm sure they can give you something to try and ease that. If it's any comfort to you, each day gets better, just try and walk and sit up and be as active as possible. Wishing you well!!

Hey everyone. 10 days out and I'm going good. I still don't get all the liquids in, I try but gosh it's a lot. I've been able to eat 4 oz cream of chicken Soup strained with 1/2 scoop of Protein, strained cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 scoop protein, 1/3 cup regular cream of wheat with 1/2 scoop protein. Also doing 4 oz Protein Shakes throughout the day. My go to at this point is 8oz hot tea with whey protein, very yummy and easy on the tummy. I've been adding 1 item a day and seeing how it goes. Tomato Soup didn't work well, it went right threw, but at least it didn't make me throw up. Tomorrow I'm going to try the pureed re-fried Beans with a little fat free sour cream. Very exciting stuff. Down a total of 19 pds since the start of the 2 week Meal Replacement - I'll take that. Hope your all doing well. Have a great weekend.

Woo hooo! You are doing AMAZING! Keep up the great work!

Maybe eat out of measuring cups? I ordered tupperware from e-bay in 1 and 2 oz sizes. Thats what i will eat out of. Yay for you getting to pureed foods! Enjoy.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I'm 11 days post op and going through this right now. It feels like morning sickness. I think it may have something to do with hormone levels shifting. Good Luck! Rest, Water and showers to escape....time will get us through this.

Curious when your first BM was after surgery? My surgery was Monday. My bariatric team called me yesterday to see how I was doing and one of the questions they asked was if I had a bm yet? I was also concerned about this so I have taken milk of magnesia the last two days. They said if I don't have one by the end of the weekend I'll have to try something different. I was just curious when you had one and how long after surgery it was? Part of me doesn't even understand how I have any waste to have one! Lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
