Hello!

I just wanted to see if anyone was close in time to me? I had my lap band surgery on 2/26. It was difficult in the beginning with the port. That part hurt the most, the area around the port. But its better now. I'm back at work. I've lost a total of 23lbs since the preop diet. Trying to get the Protein in has been difficult. I started eating eggs and mashed potatoes. Everything has stayed down. In fact, I haven't vomited once since the surgery. I'm going to introduce other soft foods this week and take it from there. I'm on here for advice, so feel free to share what has helped or hindered you in this process. Thanks for your time!

I was banded on 2/27/14 and I am so frustrated that I have not lost more weight. I have lost between 9 tio 15 pounds. It goes back and forth. I feel I am following the diets, for the most part, but since I am eating quality foods I need more help with tge quanity from my band. Can't wait for a fill. (I lost 10 lbs pre surgery)

Hi there my name is Grace and I had my Lap Band fitted on Saturday 08/03/14 and was just not prepared

for the pain I'm in. I know this is wind and that the port site will get better but I wish I had been told a bit more than I was. Someone said they had been told not to take Dairy but I've told to drink lots of milk???? Im not even sure what pain - if any -is hunger???

Hi Sweetness, I had an appointment for this Friday, But I had to change it until next month, due to traveling duties. I hated to postpone but it is what it is. Am really looking forward to a fill.

My surgery was 2/26 same as you. I'm down about 20 lbs. the scale has stopped moving this week. I plan to start with a trainer next week. Actually I go to f/u appointment today. I guess I'll get my fill date today.. I am surviving off Protein Shake and then tuna lunch and dinner. Snacks are apple sauce, sugar free pudding. Not getting Water in which I know is a big problem.. I'm really going to make a conscience effort with that.. Keep me posted on your journey.

My diet is similar to yours. Breakfast is oatmeal with lotss of milk, (skim) a Protein shake, which I keep in the car, tuna lunch and dinner. Snacks are fresh fruit, cherry tomatoes, or a handful of pistachios, grapefruit slices, etc. good food. I do go out to eat several times a week. I order fish, scallops, meatloaf, etc. Oh,I am so proud of myself, never touch the bread they serve. I'm stuck on 10 to 12 pound loss.

Yay! We are band buddies! I've tried to attach my meals from yesterday via MyFitnessPal. I haven't lost any weight since the weekend. But I'm not too hungry during the day. I'm pretty happy with my progress so far. Hope to start walking daily during lunch. I'll start Insanity next month.

I'd like to keep in touch! Is there any way to "add" friends or maybe "follow" others? LOL I dunno. I'm new here.

I see you all saying you have dairy, and lots of it. My nutritionist at the surgery center told me to stay away from dairy. I am confused, how are you all still angle to have it, and a lot at that?

Hi Pretty, my nutritionist gave me a very specific post op plan to follow. The first 5 days was Clear Liquids only. After that you introduced fat free milk and other dairy. Gosh, I don't think there would be a lot I cold have eaten that second week without some dairy. At the third week I have eggs and milk often. Did your doc state why you should stay away from dairy?

Dairy or milk in particular is made to create 500 lbs beast. I rarely drink it anyhow, only in my coffee and when I have Cookies (lol).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
