Hi there!

I'm sorry you're having a rough time! I'm 2wks post op on Monday, and I've been really cold. My surgeons' nurse tells me it is because I'm already starting to loose my insulation. And of course you're weak… you haven't had solid food in awhile! Hand in there, it get's better.

Yeah. First week is pretty rough. Of course people heal at different paces. I am 2 week post op, everyday gets smoother. I took 3 weeks off of work just in case.

Wow surprised you tried to go back to work so early. Tomorrow I will be 1 week post op and I feel very week. Still sore at incision sites too. I have 2 weeks off. If there is any way you can take more time you should. Very important that you let your body recover. Big hugs. I hear things get better when we can consume Protein Drinks. For me that is tomorrow so really hoping I feel better soon!

I will be following your progress. Hopefully each day will be better! My surgery Is scheduled for April 16th. I took the following week off and plan to resume work 12 days later on the 28th. I am self-employed, so if I don't see clients, I don't get paid. I don't get medical or vacation time! Fortunately I can work part time and sit 99% of the time. It isn't ideal to go back so eary, but what can I do? Praying I don't have any serious complications. Expect I will be tired!

I can say that Friday was a lot better and today has been really easy. I have to remind myself that I just had surgery so take it easy but I good. Always cold, but good. Nurse said that is normal.

Wow at 1 week post op there was no way I could have went to work. I was still taking pain medication on a regular schedule and my husband still had to help me. It will take some time before you feel up to 100%. After 2 weeks I went back to work and I was super sore. So I think that it's common to feel weak and not very good when your returning to normal activity.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
