Sorry to disappoint you, but, UHC community plan does not cover WLS according to my book. Good luck to you.

UHC didn't cover my sleeve. WLS is excluded from their plans.

I have UHC and am covered. Coverage of WLS is usually specific to your employer.

I too have UHC Community Plan and wondering the same as well. The rep wasn't much help when I called to inquire about wls. If you find out, please share. Thanks and best of luck!

Everyone's coverage depends on whether the employer decided they would pay for WLS or not. You have to call UHC and find out if it is a covered benefit for you or not. If not change insurance and pay for a plan that covers it. Or go self pay. If it is excluded these will be your only options.

It is a covered benefit, just wasn't too sure on all the requirements.

Uhc community is covering mine it just has to be a center of excellence

I have uhc community plan and it is a covered benefit, I am required to do a 12 month supervised diet and other pre-op testing before being submitted to insurance. I have gotten better info talking to the surgeons office as opposed to calling UHC.
