***WARNING** HORRIBLE STORY***Tuesday I pick up my little ones from the sitter and I was talking with the sitter, when I was ready to go I told them "lets go" They ran out to my car to get in the carseats (2 & 4 years old) and I walking out the door behind them with all the "baby gear" when my 4 year old got in he reach up by the dash to get something and his head hit the gear shift, knocked it out of gear and the my minivan ran over my 2 year old! The keys were not in the car and it of coarse was not even running. I had NO IDEA some cars could come out of gear with out the brake being pressed down!!!!!!!!!! I was freaking out and crying and trying to assess her to see how bad it was! My sitters family called 911 and we took her into the hospital I work at. It was horrible! Thank the Lord, He spared her life. Her name is "Samara" which is Hebrew for "Protected by God" and He did protect her. She only had a broken leg and some abrasions. Our whole family is turned upside down by this. I cant stop crying and I cant get the imagine of my 2 year daughter being throw out the front of that car! It is haunting me-- I can't eat- sleep or anything.

It has kicked me off my plateau (so much for that starvation mode theory) but ya know what I could care less. When I stepped on the scale and saw I lost another 3 lbs it didnt make me smile, didnt make me happy I just simply didnt care. Kiss your babies everyone! Love Jill

Jill, that is quite the story. I am so glad your little girl is okay. I have a story too. When my oldest son was about 4 years old we went to the playground. He proceeded to the top of the slide. When he started to go down I raised my hands and said "weeee". He proceeded to do the same. He fell over the side railing of the slide! He broke his collar bone. Thankfully it was only that and not a broken neck. I cried I couldn't believe it. I went to my neighbor who was an older woman and told her the story. She proceeded to tell me her 2 year old once followed her in the bathroom and she shut the door on his hand, cutting off 2 finger tips. That was horrible. After that I finally calmed down. Accidents do happen. Take care of yourself okay!

I am so glad your little girl is ok. My DD went all through school with a boy who had some serious mental issues, due to a similar accident, only he ran over his brother, killing him. His family never got him the help he needed to handle this through the years, the guilt ate away at him. I am so VERY glad your little girl was not more seriously injured, and also VERY glad for your son---his accident does not need to haunt him the rest of his life.

Big hugs go out to your family----

I would look into whether someone had messed with the transmission on your van---it seems like it has been years since they were able to do that.

I have a tradition of buying little wooden rocking chairs for each of my grandchildren for their 1st birthdays. My now 2 yr old granddaughter was no exception---she was in it at my house, her Mom (My DD) and I were sitting 3-4 feet away chatting, she turned just a bit, and stuck her leg under the arm of the chair. Then when she leaned forward she fell out---and whacked her little leg on the arm of the chair....and broke her leg!

The reason I tell you this, is that within 2 weeks you could not see the break anymore---children heal so fast, because they are constantly growing. She will heal quickly---probably long before your emotions.

I know you are the last person on your "take care of" list----but please don't let your own health fall apart---they all need you!!

Kat

I hope you can "forgive" yourself, I think part of your torment could come from this. There is no reason you should continue to be tormented by the vision of watching that accident. Yes, you have Im sure said you were sorry over and over. You have great love for your children, and there was nothing you could have done to forsee even for a nano-second what could have happened. You have even warned us to be careful.

I appreciate that because that was such a freaky thing to have happen.

Ive been trying to find in my bible where it says that unforgivness opens the door to the tormentor, but Ill have to edit my post later,as it is late, but it is true, you can forgive yourself (not that you caused the accident) but It seems like I hear guilt in your post.

Ask God to bless your mind and memories, and He will do it because guilt, shame and condemnation come from evil, and all good and perfect gifts come from our father above.

Please dont get side tracked by this trauma, your health is important to your family. Blessings to you.

Oh my god, Jill, what a wrenching story! I am SOOO glad your daughter will be OK.

I can relate to how you feel, though; you're not alone. When my older dd was 10 weeks old--remember how tiny they are at that age?--I was carrying her down the stairs in my house and slipped on the second stair from the top. As much as you think you'll never let go, instinct to protect myself took over and I actually let go of my baby! She went flying down the entire flight of stairs and landed on the bottom with a crash. In the few seconds that this took, I felt my life end--I was thinking: you have killed your child; motherhood was fun, but now it's over; this will define my life for the rest of my days; this will be my tragedy. :):D So I can very much imagine how you felt watching this horrible thing happen to your daughter.

My daughter was just fine; but I was in shock for a week. Please realize this was NOT your fault; it's the universe's way of teaching us that not everything is within our control and we have to appreciate the here and now. Take care of yourself, take care of your daughter, lots of hugs and kisses to her from a mom who knows what it feels like.

I'm so glad your daughter is going to be ok. What a horrible thing for all of you to go through. I agree with Kat, she'll be healed before you know it, concentrate on your blessings, not the visual of the past. Hugs to you and your family.

My heart was beating so fast as I read your story because I can almost imagine that happening to one of my boys. They are so full of energy and get into everything. I pray every day for the Lord to watch over them and protect them from others and from themselves. My heart aches just thinking something could happen to one of them....I'm sure your baby had a guardian angel watching over her.

I will send out positive thoughts for your whole family and hope her recovery is fast and complete.

Ana

OMG! Thank God she is alright. You poor thing, what a nightmare. One of the most difficult parts of being a mother is that constant nagging in your heart that something could happen to one of your children. You have been truly blessed and your baby is safe. I know it has to be hard to get over what you saw, but you need to keep yourself healthy for those babies. Just thank God for his blessing you and protecting your child and be happy in that. Don't dwell on the nightmare you had to live through.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
