So this morning is had Liquid Protein by New Whey.. Grape flavored... This was the nastiest thing ever and then to finish it off, it gave me diarrhea... I'm not having a good day.. Trying to get in my liquids but just not feeling it!

I tried the watermelon one (which I normally love anything watermelon flavored) and I have to agree. It was really, really horrible. I choked down about half of it before I thought I was going to throw up. Then, if that all wasn't nasty enough, I kept burping a horrible disgusting watermelon taste for several hours. Will not get those again.

I get the fruit punch flavored and pour it in a water bottle (about 3/4 full of water) with a pack of sf Hawaiian Punch singles. It's the only way I can drink it.

Gixxergirl I will try your method if I ever get brave enough to try it again!!!! That was sooo awful!!! It smelled good like it might have tasted good... It's a lot of Protein at once but yuck yuck yuck!!!!

On another note... I'm ready for puréed foods but I don't know where to start!!! I think tuna will be the easiest to get down... Any ideas anyone?

BLEH!!! I got the watermelon too and it smelled awesome until I drank It:/ the only fruit one I thin I can do is banana. That one is actually really good.

I am glad I'm not the only one, any of the Proteins send me to the bathroom and it's horrible! I can't wait to start pureed foods on Wednesday:( I had an idea to try in the morning. I'm going to make my coffee (1cup) put if in the blender with ice, milk and 2 scoops of chocolate Protein. Almost like a blended chocolate mocha...just with a taste of protein....

You can have tuna? ?

Big Train makes a Mocha Frappe Protein Drink that has coffee in it and tastes really good. They also have a chai latte protein mix that taste just like chai tea you get in a restaurant.

You got extended an extra week of liquids????? Why did that happen? Oh god now I am nervous for my post op visit. I swear if my doctor tells me that I will just cry. I was told that if it goes well Tuesday I could start pureed foods as early as Tuesday after my visit and I already went grocery shopping this weekend for Greek yogurt, Low fat/sugar free pudding, strawberry flavored apple sauce, grits, tuna individual packets, stuff for mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes....yum:):) it's harder than I thought to have it in my fridge and I can't eat it for a couple days.

Hi everyone well I am 15 days post op on stage 3 diet pureed foods which my nut has me eating ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, chobani plain yogurt and isopure... I am down exactly 30 lbs today I started at 269 I'm at 239 today but I am really discouraged I miss eating dinners with my family and not feeling like I need to avoid things. I have absolutely no hunger at all but I'm pushing myself to get 70 Protein I'm lucky if I get 50 now. I'm 24 and I just want to cry because I knew this was hard but I never expected it to be this emotionally difficult. I feel like I spent my life eating when I wasn't hungry which is why I had to have this surgery but now I'm not hungry and don't want food and I have to push this food down. I never really ate dairy because it made me sick now everything is dairy and I'm struggling.

Please help I don't know what to do..

Welcome!!! Congrats on your loss first of all, sounds like you are doing AMAZING!!

I'm not a big fan of milk so I had a hard time with my protein in the liquid phases. I substituted with almond milk which is more expensive, but it lasts longer, has less fat and a lot more Calcium.

I haven't started my pureed diet yet, I will be able to tomorrow if my doctor clears me at my post op visit. I am not a fan of cottage cheese or ricotta (unless I'm making lasagna...lol) so my Nut told me to eat low fat Greek yogurt, pudding, grits, cream of wheat, scrambled eggs (or substitute), refried Beans, applesauce (which I don't eat but when I was at the grocery store I found they have several flavors, so I got strawberry), pureed veggie Soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes. Ask your NUT and try something like that.

I know what you mean about being able to "eat normal". I have been depressed as well because I am pretty social and go to dinner with friends often which I haven't much later because of my diet. Also I have to cook my daughter dinner every night and I can't eat it so she has started not eating because I'm not eating the same things with her. There is some really good support on this thread, stick around we are all here for each other :):)

I survived the puréed stage by making foods I like and then putting them in the food processor. The first meal I wanted was ziti-got Protein from the cheese and added some unflavored Protein Powder. If you like baked chicken, bake it (make sure it's moist!) and then use an immersion blender or a food processor. Find what you like-it's only temporary! Soon you'll be on soft foods. Don't get discouraged yet, our lives have to change, this is just the first step :)

Feel free to inbox me if you want any other suggestions to what I ate during puréed

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
