Well, as of today, I am 1 month out after surgery and I have found my FIRST food that I cannot tolerate....TRISCUIT CRACKERS! I need the Fiber so I would eat a serving with meds in the evening...well, the 2 times I have done this, they got stuck and it HURT!!! I tries to drink Water and it wouldn't go down...I couldn't burp...it really kind of freaks you out!! So as I am standing over the porcelain thrown, I feel it move on down and now I have major hiccups!!! Grrrrr...

uh oh, no more triscuits for you! ;) Being stuck is no fun, that's for sure!!

I usually eat apples to get extra fiber. I peel one, slice into small pieces, put a dash of cinnamon and microwave in a bowl until they're soft. It's so good! Just an idea!

I take fiber supplements to keep things moving. No more triscuits for me either. My do not eat list is getting longer.

Your best bet is Metamucil wafers. They come in different flavors but you still have to eat them slowly because they swell when you swallow them. Triscuts and shredded wheat hate me terribly. You can also get some Dan Active drinks or activia works like a charm.

Just a thought ... (I have not had triscuits so this may not work)...

Is there some sort of low cal dip (flavored Greek yogurt) that you could put on it to help it go down? Take at least 4 separate bites of the cracker, chew well, swallow and count to 10 or 15 or whatever and then take the second bite of the cracker? Essentially eat it slower with some liquid/dip.

That is what I don't think I was doing!! I think I was eating it two fast!! A serving is 6 crackers and I had 3!! THANK GOD I didn't have all 6!!! I think if i eat slower and maybe drink a little Water with it to help it down it would be better...however, I think it is going to be a while before I try it...it REALLY hurt and was kind of scary!!

Any kind of Fiber is going to bulk up in your stomach. I would go with Activia because at least you wont have to worry about getting stuck.

I don't really have any no-no foods. Or, I didn't til the other night. I bought some okra, you know the dehydrated type with sea salt. It crunched just like a cheese puff and actually was pretty good. I only had about 3 pods and it hit me......Oh boy did it hit me. An hour later, I swore off okra forever. I don't think I've ever been so miserable. I can usually even do breads, slowly and limited. I have had my fights with chicken, fish, okra, eggs, bread, pork chop. I try not to blame the food, its nearly always me. Except maybe the okra

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
