Fave comfort food?

Recommended Posts

What is your favorite comfort food? It doesn't have to be healthy or bandter-friendly, but simply the food you think of as the ultimate comfort food.

I have a few. French onion Soup, homemade mashed potatoes, brocolli casserole.

Hey Faith...

If you like Cilanto there is something you just have to try. Grow your own! Seriously, as sprouts they are sooooooo good!

Ever buy sprouts for a salad? Kinda bland, yet good. I tried cilantro sprouts and I've been hooked ever since. Seeds are about a dollar and last for a year. I grow about 20 sprouts at any given time. Four to six is perfect for a sandwich as they have a strong flavor. So you don't need to pile them on as you would regular sprouts or radish sprouts.

If you need fresh cilantro for a recipe just substitute a half dozen sprouts. I'm talking about when they are an inch or two long.

They are SOOO good. And btw, you can't buy them. I invented the concept! LOL

We call cilantro coriander here and I LOVE it too.

My ultimate comfort food though, Cookies. Or anything horrifically white and high GI really.

DARN! And here I thought I invented it! LOL

Before being banded I loved salads! I'd pile on radish sprouts, the other kind as well and I loved them. I was growing my own cilantro and popped one in my mouth to see what they were like and I was in heaven.

I tried to find them on line, in the stores, anywhere. Couldn't find them. So I just kept growing my own. I don't let them get to the full grown stage, I HATE cutting and chopping the stuff. I adore the sprouts.

Hey, I love strudel, both apple and cherry, and kugelhopf. My Hungarian grandmother would take me to all the different cake shops as a child and we would devour some really delicious cakes. I think cakes are a real comfort food for me as they are also tied up in the memory of my wonderful bubbe.

Mac and cheese. It's the ultimate comfort food for me. I just read about an eatery in NY that specializes in mac and cheese. It's called S'MAC. You can have your mac and cheese 10 different ways. Yum.:hungry:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
