Fave comfort food?

What is your favorite comfort food? It doesn't have to be healthy or bandter-friendly, but simply the food you think of as the ultimate comfort food.

I have a few. French onion soup, homemade mashed potatoes, brocolli casserole.

Hey Faith...

If you like Cilanto there is something you just have to try. Grow your own! Seriously, as sprouts they are sooooooo good!

Ever buy sprouts for a salad? Kinda bland, yet good. I tried cilantro sprouts and I've been hooked ever since. Seeds are about a dollar and last for a year. I grow about 20 sprouts at any given time. Four to six is perfect for a sandwich as they have a strong flavor. So you don't need to pile them on as you would regular sprouts or radish sprouts.

If you need fresh cilantro for a recipe just substitute a half dozen sprouts. I'm talking about when they are an inch or two long.

They are SOOO good. And btw, you can't buy them. I invented the concept! LOL

I have cilantro growing year 'round but have never tried the sprouts! I will do that tomorrow if I have any in that stage. Mmmmmm

I LOVE CILANTRO!!!

thanks millions for the suggestion, BB :)

We call cilantro coriander here and I LOVE it too.

My ultimate comfort food though, cookies. Or anything horrifically white and high GI really.

DARN! And here I thought I invented it! LOL

Before being banded I loved salads! I'd pile on radish sprouts, the other kind as well and I loved them. I was growing my own cilantro and popped one in my mouth to see what they were like and I was in heaven.

I tried to find them on line, in the stores, anywhere. Couldn't find them. So I just kept growing my own. I don't let them get to the full grown stage, I HATE cutting and chopping the stuff. I adore the sprouts.

Hey, I love strudel, both apple and cherry, and kugelhopf. My Hungarian grandmother would take me to all the different cake shops as a child and we would devour some really delicious cakes. I think cakes are a real comfort food for me as they are also tied up in the memory of my wonderful bubbe.

Are we intentionally punishing ourselves here? We can't eat these things....can we? I know I can't .... 5 minutes on the lips.....5 miles in my running shoes....seriously........but just FYI....Rolo Ice Cream here....I would marry it!

LOL

Tracey

Dont know about you but I certainly can!

I just made a batch of choc chip cookins this arvo.

Whether I can eat them AND lose weight is a whole nother debate, lol.

Mac and cheese. It's the ultimate comfort food for me. I just read about an eatery in NY that specializes in mac and cheese. It's called S'MAC. You can have your mac and cheese 10 different ways. Yum.:hungry:
