Hot Sausage and Lentil Soup

Winter time is the best time for soup and this is one of my favorite soups. This is the one time that I will eat meat.

1 pound of Hot Italian Sausage

1 Pound of Mild Italian Sausage

1 bag of lentils

2 containers (large) Chicken broth

6 potatoes

3 large carrots

A handful of Kale

Season to your taste

Garlic minced, seasoning salt, onion powder

Remove casing from sausage and fry in pain, draining any grease off of it. I usually put it in my strainer and wash it off to get most of the grease off.

Cut up potatoes fine as these will be the thickening of the soup

Dice up carrots

Place all ingredients in a crock pot and cook on high for about four hours or until the lentils are done.

There are so many things you can add to this soup. You probably can add, green peppers, tomatoes and other veggies that you choose but I love it like it is. Most seasoning I use is garlic, seasoning salt, a pinch of dill.
