February/March 2014 sleevers

I'm so excited to be this close to surgery. I don't have a date yet. I go back to the surgeon on Jan. 8, 2014. I expect we will set a date then (hopefully). January 29 ends the 3 month "diet" period. So I think I'm looking at surgery in February. :)

Did any of you ladies have a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as your VSG?

Yes I had my lapband removed my hiatal hernia repaired and my VSG all I'm the same surgery. It was a piece if CAKE!

Well thanks for the replies! I am just trying to figure out why I have so much pain still and I was chalking it up to the hernia repair. Guess not! lol

I've got my appointment today with the surgeon! I've got a list of questions, but does anyone maybe have any questions that I might've missed that you wish you had asked?

What sort of leak tests do you perform?

Will I have a drain?

Will I have a private room?

Will I have an abdominal binder?

What will I be given for pain medicine?

What is the average # of nights in the hospital?

You got a pretty good list, I think you got it all. Please post what happen, I have mine scehduled for March 5 and would like to get some type of idea what to expect I know I was told I will be there for 4 hours.

Thank you!!

Ahh! MY SURGERY IS NEXT WEEK! Wednesday the 5th. Exactly what I was hoping for!

He had a cancellation. Every other appointment would've been up to 6 weeks, which would've kicked me out of the March club!

Sooo I start a 1200 calorie diet starting tomorrow, and then the day before I will be on a liquid diet. I won't find out what time my surgery is until the night before.

I am so. freaking. ready.

Anyone else struggling to sleep? I am lucky to get 2-3 hours a night and its killing me. I can't imagine getting through my day today. But u have a NUT and an Endo appointment.

Super excited!!! No leaks!!! Sigh of relief!!

Hey Jencovi, Sorry to hear your having sleeping problems. Im 9 days out and sleeping ok. Get up 2x a night but that's normal. Everything is going really good. It's a whole new way of eating which I'm learning to do.

Here is a link to the forum w/others who are having those problems. Hang in there I hope it gets better.
