Starting Weight: 316

Surgery Weight:299

Goal Weight: 160

Biggest challenge: Getting all my fluids in, I wait to drink 30 min after I eat but i still struggle with remembering not to drink 30 min before I eat.

Biggest Fail: I had some alcohol over the holidays *hangs head in shame*

Biggest accomplishment: I am almost to my goal of weighing 230 by January 10th!!

Happy New Year to you.

I was sleeved on 09/18 and since surgery I've lost 46 pounds. However my journey really started in May 2013 and since then I've lost 72 pounds in total.

I too have had a couple of drinks over Christmas and New Year but I'm not ashamed of it. Everything in moderation is what I say. I most certainly have not over eaten as in previous years. I'm still struggling with dense Proteins and getting all my fluids in as well. It is hard trying to eat slowly and to not drink whilst eating. But then again we're trying to change a lifetime of habits.

I feel and look so much better and looking forward to visiting my sister in the States on Saturday 04 January. She hasn't seen me since before my op, so hopefully she will see a big difference in me.

Here's to 2014!

Christmas was the worst! I stuck to my surgeons rules, but all of my inlaws kept on my arse saying things like "it's Christmas! You have to have something!" "It's Christmas! You have to have a drink!" "It's Christmas! Enjoy!" I FINALLY STOOD UP ON MY CHAIR AND SAID "I need everyone to listen to my words! I PAID $12000, had surgery in Mexico TO FIX WHAT I HAVE BEEN DESTROYING FOR THE LAST 10 years!!!" I think I hurt their feelings. But for the last 10 years they have been sitting there judging me and treating me horribly for gaining almost 180lbs. REALLY PEOPLE!!??

Anyway! CONGRATS to you people for losing and wish you many great successes!!!!!

Happy New Years to you too! 72 pounds is awesome way to go! I agree on the moderation I am focusing on changing my mental cravings which seem to be the hardest to overcome.

I would have done the samething you did I don't think I would have been able to bite my tongue. My family and in laws have been super supportive and understanding about why I couldn't eat certain things. I am very thankful for that. Did they back off you after you said something?

Hi, haven't posted or even looked on here in awhile, but I find myself slipping into bad habits again. I am almost 6 months post op (sept 6th) and have lost 60lbs. However, I have remained fairly static since mid December and that scares me! What the hell am I doing eating Cookies and chips!

My surgeon thinks I should/could lose 100lbs in a year, my goal is to lose 125. I hope some of you have experienced what I am and have the magic words to jolt me back into a healthy eating pattern.

I am eating healthy meals, but it has become oh so easy to eat 2 or 3 Cookies or ice cream at night and between meals instead of something healthy. I have 2 kids and my husband is supportive but since the holidays he is on a "we deserve a treat" mode! I have laid down the law but am struggling. Help!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
