I guess I can't..Just asked my hubby if it would be okay and he said if I did that I would never have to worry about losing another pound..

Hmmmmmm....wonder what he meant by that!!! ;)

Awwww I'm so glad you have this man in your life! Ain't life grand? I read many similarities in your story and ours (long distance, fell in love before we met, etc). I love seeing these positive stories and you are dead on, our families go through this just as much as we do.

My husband was sleeved with me but all my talking about stalls, calories, stalls, foods, stalls, etc still drive him a bit batty :)

My hubby and I met and then I promptly moved away..I was starting to get feelings for him and ran fast..really fast... A few months later we started to write each other and I looked forward to his letters..We talked on the phone every Friday night..He has a sexy voice....Big plus for me.....So we did the long distance thing for quite a while too...

Then he moved to where I was living and started to seriously date me...Yikes....I broke up with him so many times I think I set a Guinness book record...

One day after I broke up with him again I said " If I were to ever marry I would want someone like you". He looked me square in the eyes and said I am right in front of you..Why not marry me then....I was doomed .....

I did try to leave the building just before we walked down the aisle though..He grabbed my skirt and said not this time girl.....

We have been married for 36 years this last Nov....

He is truly amazing!!!!!!!!!

Great story, RJ. I love to hear how people meet.

My hubby and I were only in the same location 3 weeks out of an entire year before we moved in together - the first time we met (as he said after talking for over a year), we got to the point where we didn't like each other. He would say something and I would think, "that's not what he's supposed to look like when he says that!" It was NOT a love connection...UNTIL, I demanded we go to the dog races. I had never been. He said, "I don't gamble." I said, "You live here and don't have to go again after I leave." (I was snotty). Once we got there and we kind of both silently decided there was going to be no love connection and we'll just ride the next few days out before I left for home; we had a great time with no expectations. Yes, we fell in love at the dog track.

Wow is all I can say...I know my hubby wouldn't write anything. He's a shy introvert, totally opposite me!!! I was heavy when we married almost 22 years ago and have just kept on growing!! I really wish he would do something like this though!!! Congrats on having such a wonderful man and support system!!!! Good luck to you and yours!!!

My hubby and I fell in love before we met. He was a moderator on a computer related (geeky) website, which also had a blogging section in the forums. Months after my first husband passed away I started blogging about my life raising our young son alone. Hubby started reading my blog everyday and eventually PM'd me on the site to ask if I wanted to chat sometime. It turns out his wife had just passed away and my blog helped him cope with his grief. We finally met a year or so later and have been together ever since.

What an awesome story. Out of grief came something positive for you both.

I wish you continued happiness!

My husband and I met on an online forum called completely stupid conversations :)

I was attracted to his posts long before I knew what he looked like but we ended up talking on the phone one day--and the conversation lasted 8 hours. The first time we met was at the airport, but we had phoned, texted, skyped before then. Got so lucky!

Isn't it comforting to know that you made a great choice and can live your life with a supportive, caring spouse as interested in your well being as his own. Having a life long connection is meaningful. And I can feel the happiness in your words. I can relate. My wife of 34 years is perfect for me.

Congratulations to both of you!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
