February Surgeries

Recommended Posts

How did everyone do on the holiday? I'm single and my family is in another state, so I avoided the pitfalls.

I am going to be honest and tell you I've had "last supper syndrome" for a few weeks. Monday starts my high protein/low carb diet until January 20 when my liquid diet starts.

I'm sure I will experience the same when my time draws near. Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize.

I did pretty good, it was just my husband and me for Christmas. I fixed a turkey dinner but I didn't eat anything else that day. I have avoided all of the leftover christmas Cookies that are sitting out o. My front porch. Been sucking crystal light raspberry lemonade down like mad. If I stay away from the kitchen I do much better. Tonight I had a turkey sandwich with lite bread, low fat mayo, and lettuce, the. Two pickles , some carrots, was doing good until I then had half a bag of potato chips. Sure wish I hadn't bought those. But no more, they'll go downstairs to my husband's kitchen tomorrow.

I just completed my psych appt. on Thursday and I'm scheduled to meet my surgeon on Jan. 13. All of my paperwork will be submitted and (hopefully) ready to go for February, but since I am a teacher, I am trying to schedule my surgery in March so I can just extend my Spring Break.

I wish everyone luck and will be following all of your stories!

I've heard good and bad about Cigna- but no more or less than other insurance companies... Or maybe I'm just being hopeful :)

I'm doing really well- sticking with high Protein and low carb. Learning the difference bw head hunger and stomach hunger has been a challenge!

Excited for all of us!

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well. I seem to be going up and down lately. I start out the day and go through work great, but at the end of the day I fall apart. I really wish I didn't have to go in a grocery store at all. I love fruits and vegetables and I have lots of them at home and I plan on eating them every night. However that always changes when I get home because I've come home with something I definitely should not eat. They say never go to the grocery store hungry. But I do every night. I can't wait to have this surgery so that I won't be hungry when I go. I have no problem sticking with the good for you stuff when I am not hungry or stressing out.

Rae, do you gave a surgery date yet? I'm with you on the stress eating, so hard to not do it :( I think I'm doing ok, cut out soda (Pepsi nut) and all breads so my weight is going down. Good start before my pre op diet.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
