Any January Surgery Bandsters?

I just got my date! I asked for Jan 16th so I could have a long Martin Luther weekend to recover. I got my date...whoo hoo! I wanted to connect with others for this time frame. So excited can't wait.

Is everyone ready for the Christmas holidays? I can't wait to get home tomorrow and see my family

I'm scheduled for January 17th. Very excited but nervous as well!

After this weekend I am as ready for Christmas as I'll ever be! I just have to say Christmas cookies are a little evil. I never wake up wanting a cookie until Christmas time!

My surgery is January 16th. I am 33, and I live in Colorado. I have 4 kids and have always struggled with weight issues. I am nervous and excited and would love to network, support and build friendships with other people who are making a huge lifestyle change. I know its going to be one of the biggest challenges I have ever faced. How are you guys feeling about it?

I'm very determined and excited to work my way down to my goal weight. I didn't think I had weight issues until I was 15. That's when I started to get picked on and laughed at. I am going to take this challenge on and accomplish it!!!

@ RSifers - I also feel like this is going to be the challenge of a lifetime! I'm nervous, but excited and hopeful also.

Have you January bandsters been telling people? I've been telling lots of friends and family about the procedure. The more people that know about my surgery, the more people I have in my "army" to support me.

I'm going on vacation in a couple days, and at the end of my vacation I start the pre-op diet. What a start to the new year!

I also will get the lap band on this day as well.

Hi-

My surgery is scheduled for Jan 10th. I am 38 and have a little girl, who is my world!! So excited and nervous!!!

@desertpixie. I do Crossfit also and love it!!! I can't wait to be able to do pull-ups without a band and be able to run faster!!!

Happy Christmas everyone. Isn't it great knowing how different Christmas next year will be for us all? Am so excited.

Nerves are really kicking in now. My op is on the 4th. Am I the first one of us to do it? I still can't quite believe I am going to do this. It's bonkers. But I am so excited for the results, I know me and this lapband are going to get on well together.

New Years new life. Getting banded on Jan 7th. Have you all decided/ found a protein supplement you enjoy?

I have found (haven't tried yet) isopure drink. It is about 46% protein. Found in vitamin shops for about $5. It looks like green tea in a clear glass bottle. Hope that helps.

I just bought (but have not received) powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein. I did tons of research and from the reviews I read it looks like the best one for me. I got the sample pack. Unfortunately I did not order it soon enough b/c it looks like it won't be here until the 2nd and my op date is the 6th. My physician gave me foods to eat and if I wanted then I could add a Protein shake. I know after surgery I will definitely need the shakes.

What is great about Unjury is that it is lactose free. Also they have one that has no flavor you can just add it to tomato juice or Soup, whatever you. Very low carbs 1 or 2 and tons of protein, between 20 and 25 with about 100 calories. I got the starter pack so I could try all the flavors.

Just started my pre-op diet today. This is becoming real!!
