I went back to school to finish my degree a few months ago, and got into a pretty bad habit. I'm running out of time to change that before surgery, and I don't want to take a break from school. 36 is creeping up on me, and if i don't finish now, I never will.

It's hard enough to stay awake when I get home from work, but adding in classes (some of which I don't care about, they're just requirements to fill) has been TOUGH. The best way I've found to get through the studying and assignments is with food. When I start drifting, I snack.< /p>

It's midterm week, and I'm down to my last few hours before everything is due. Know what I've eaten so far? Everything. I have eaten all of the things.

Anyone have any non-food study focus tips that I could try?

Thanks!

What works for do when I drift is to change up tasks. Either walk, go clean the kitchen counter, tweeze my eyebrows :) some short distraction.

Also suggest fixing a hot drink and sipping on it instead of eating.

Thanks! I'd pluck my toe hair if it would get me through this test.

As an aside - statistics makes me feel stupid :(.

Yeah I know a lot of people feel that way. It'll be over soon though right?

4 more weeks! I swing widely between "I love this stuff!" and "grr! Argh!"

I'm still not sure how I got an A- in statistics. I got 37% on the last test. I think he must have graded on a curve.

Anyway, I do a lot of my studying while riding my exercise bike. It keeps me AFK (away from kitchen) and gets in my workout. I get sleeved during finals so I'm planning on taking it early.

I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping everyone else tanked, too, so ours will do the same thing!

That would be awesome! I'm equipment free at the moment or I'd give it a shot. Our boss had a stand up treadmill desk that he gave up on, but I don't think it ever got unpacked when we moved to the new office. I might have to see about staying late one day this week and trying that out!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
