Dude, I love my ecig! I quit smoking in January cold turkey. I had a full pack in my car and used my ecig for a weekend. I tried a normal cig again Monday morning and almost choked on how bad it tasted! I swore I'd never do it again... and I didn't. I slowly decreased the nicotine in my Fluid over the next months and have been vaping nicotine free Fluid since early August. Its like a pacifier at this point - just helps with the habit... though I've been noticing that's even starting to diminish now.

Personally, I'd tried Chantix three times and it never stuck because I missed my friends who still smoked and the hand/mouth habit. All my smoking friends switched to the ecig and we still had social time! Made it so much easier for me! I am glad the Chantix works for some, that is awesome, it just wasn't for me.

My advice? Find a high quality ecig shop - they're popping up everywhere near me. Most will let you taste all of their fluids before you buy, help you find what you're looking for, and teach you how it all works! It was like magic for me, and I can't even imagine a situation that would make me want to go back.

Ok. Here it is: shop.ourpricesarecheap.com If you choose to order, use code: TAKE15OFF for 15%off your order. Now the cigarette package I ordered was 49.00. It came with 2 cigarettes, battery charger and a 5ml bottle of liquid. The Kool liquid is a 10ml bottle for 7.00. I don't see the Newport. I have been using the same bottle for 2weeks and have just now decided I needed to purchase another before being stranded.

Is there nicotine in these?

I know that it is somewhat different, but I dip tobacco. I've done it since I was 12 years old (35 years). I found a non-tobacco, non-nicotine dip called BACC OFF. At first I started dipping one dip of the non-nicotine dip and then three with nicotine. I'm now at three dips of non-nicotine and then one with nicotine. I'll be out of regular dip in less than three weeks. When I'm out, I'm done. Usually, when I make a change, I do it cold turkey, but this time I'm weaning my self off it. There is a website for BACC OFF. Hopefully this will help someone out there.

Thanks! I used a nicotine e cig to help me quit. It's been over a month and I still have trouble, want to smoke daily. My doctor does test on day of surgery, if positive for nicotine, surgery is cancelled. Looking for nicotine free alternative

I smoked up until the night before my surgery. I was supposed to quit one month prior but I just couldn't. I haven't had a cigarette since and it feels amazing!!! You can do it...willpower!

I quit using the lozenges (the mini 4 mg ones that i would break in half). The first 4 days are the worst. I used the lozenges once or twice a day until surgery, and none since surgery. I still get cravings to smoke, but they are fleeting. I find taking deep breaths helps me. Someone said that smokers find smoking relaxing partly because it's the only time they take deep breaths. I thought that sounded dumb, but I tried it and was pleasantly surprised.

My surgeon did not really demand that i quit, but I know what smoking does to your circulation, and didn't want any extra risks.

There are a lot of things I've had to give up for this surgery: smoking, caffeine, eating (pre op diet), using food to change how I feel (post op), carbonation. Those are the major ones, and I had some deeply ingrained addictions going on. It was hard. (eating was the hardest thing to give up). Now that it's over, and I'm almost 3 weeks post op, it was all so worth it. My work pants are already falling off.

So do what you gotta do. Ain't no one ever said it was easy!!!

My surgeon does a blood test immediately prior to surgery, and if there is indication of nicotine, the surgery is canceled. The risk of smoking is far too high. It must be the hardest thing to do, but you can do it!

I smoked for over 40 years...that's right...40+!!! Smoked 2 packs a day of Marlboro reds. I quit almost 7 years ago and here's how I did it. I got a prescription for Zyban. When I was ready, I started taking the Zyban 2 weeks before my actual last cig. By the time 2 weeks were up the cigs tasted horrible!!! On day 15, I put on a patch, continued to take the Zyban and haven't touched one since. I stayed on Zyban for 3 months and had the patch on for 6. Give it a try! It's no more expensive than buying cigarettes!! Good luck!!!

I had to quit to have surgery but I had to have quit 3 months before. I quit August 8 and they actually blood tested me for nicotine levels every 6 weeks or so. When I think about smoking now, I can't even remember why I did it to begin with. To be totally honest, I feel very liberated! I don't have to worry about whether or not I have enough cigarettes in my pack to make it through the day and if I don't, where am I going to stop. I don't worry about whether or not I have a lighter. I don't care when my kids get out of the car because, before, i couldn't wait so I could light up. I breathe better. I smell better. my husband still smokes. I can't stand the way he smells anymore. Do your lungs a favor and quit! If you're like me, you'll appreciate having something to be proud of yourself for!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?
