Starting On Real Food!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am done with my mushies, and starting back to real food. What are some good meals to start with for lunch and dinner options. I need some ideas, I not thrilled with some of the ideas I got from my nut. Would love some other suggestions. Thanks!

My go to lunches are veggie burgers with a side of Beans or veggies. ..I also do ham and cheese roll ups. dinner I do chicken or fish mostly. I also eat taco dip a lot. I do the ground meat, beans, sour cream, cheese, lettuce...and eat it with parmesan chips I make at home. Eggface has some great recipes too...I LOVE the Peanut Butter crepes. I just pit pb&j on them.

I love all different kinds of salads, Soups, meatballs with marinara and a bit of parmesan cheese, reuben with out the bread (I just cut up corned beef lunch meat, top with sauerkraut, 2tbsp fat free thousand island dressing, and top with a slice of swiss cheese, and microwave).

This really isn't a diet that a Bandster would follow for most of us. You can eat whatever you want. Once you get enough fills to be in the green zone you will be satisfied with less food. That's how the band is intended to work.

Of course, eating healthy foods like salmon, chicken, salads, veggies is always a good idea. I eat the sandwich thins with deli turkey a lot. I sometimes add a thin slice of cheese. I use mustard and light mayo/miracle whip. Sometimes it's just the deli meat and some fruit.

dinner can be salmon with veggies. chicken stir fry with veggies. Hamburger patty with a side salad or vegetables. Small tenderloin with spaghetti squash.

I try to stay away from anything white, like milk, refined sugar, flours, Pasta, potatoes. I don't cut them out entirely but I eat much much less now than before.

its always (scary) to be able to eat again after banding...i know it was for me...i was scared to eat and scared to (regain) the Water weight i was losing by being on liquids..see what a warped mind dieting does to people.....TMF is right..eat what you want.....but make EXCELLENT choices.....some foods are better than others (baked or grilled vs fried) .....myself only eat lean Proteins, veggies and fruit (nothing from a box which is highly processed) and i choose to not eat certain things....i am very aware that 3500 calories ate or drank is 1 pound.....so since the band/plication i have wont allow me to eat much, i decided that when i do eat, its gonna be GOOD......

eat slow, chew alot, make good choices.....no dieting needed to lose weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
