Recommended Posts

So im a little over two months out weighing in at 187, and im able to eat all the things I was told I would have trouble with, bread, Pasta, ect, anyone else like this? Of course i eat it vary rarely, and I wont even dare try fried foods, I dont even want to open that box. Im just worried I can tolerate the foods now but in the future wont be able to.

I'm 8 months out and the only foods I have trouble with are triscuts and pork chops. I can eat everything including fried foods and dairy. I eat these foods in moderation!

I'm five months out. I only have a short list of foods that I can tolerate. I'm okay with it. Everything is going good - I'm losing steadily and I feel good. I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing.

There are some things that I don't tolerate well but most things I do ok with. With my pouch things will sit well and then out of the blue the same things will make me throw up. Makes no sense.

I am not a dumper and I really have to watch it- especially with all the Halloween candy around these days! I'm just avoiding it most of them time as I'm prone to snacking without thinking about it.

I am a grazer, I am very glad I dump if I eat the wrong foods. If I do not dump! then I feel sick to my tummy. I would be putting weight back on if I could eat everything. I love the fact that I can only eat a little three tablespoons and that I am not hungry - cravings yes. This time of the year, candy has always been my downfall so glad I can not eat it!

Knock on wood, I have not dumped--yet. I am almost 9 months out. I do not feel so good after fried, high fat foods, beef and sometimes chicken, but I haven't found anything that makes me dump. I have never even thrown up once. I just try to stick to the "good" foods.

I'm 14 months out and have not found any foods I can't tolerate. I've been able to eat everything just much smaller amounts.

I have to watch carb content, otherwise I can handle anything. meats, chicken, fruits, bread, rice, veggies, none of it bothers my stomach at all. I consider myself lucky!!! I have thrown up twice since surgery in February, once because I was seasick and once because I ate too much. My own fault.

I can tolerate anything...haven't tried anything with sugar yet...don't plan on it, but I can have small amounts of rice, Pasta, etc. I choose not to, except for brown rice, whole wheat Pasta, quinoa, etc. I've been at peoples dinner parties and tried white carbs...just a little...nope, no dumping. I just stick to logging food and eating clean. I usually don't have room for carbs after Protein and veggies anyway. Most people don't dump anyway, so I wasn't that worried that I didn't.

The only thing I can't tolerate so far anymore is milk but I'm only three weeks out.

Two years out, have never thrown up, and I eat almost anything I want. White rice and most recently popcorn and I don't get along. Long term, the number of things you can't eat is usually pretty short. What's more important is the things you choose to eat or choose not to eat. And that's for life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
