I'm from Northampton and have lived here since I was one. I was born in Port Talbot, South Wales. xx

I am hopefully being banded on the 29th Jan (if I keep my nerve and stop letting negative people or people against the band getting me down

Don't let others get you down, they are not living the life you are. You are so close now - many would wish to be in your shoes. Chin up and go for it, two friends of my friend had it done and they both look stunning now! My ex husband is very negative, as if I care what he thinks. You are going to have a new leash of life and will feel and look so much better and most of all be healthier before the summer. I can't wait, I go to sleep every night with a smile on my face thinking I am another day closer and I won't be banded until August. Good luck for the 29th and let us know how you get on

hello all!

I posted in the introductions forum a few days ago but did not realise that there was a UK post.

I'm Michaela and I'm in Bracknell (Berks) and I'm currently organizing my surgery for Feb 27th in Bruges with Dr Dillemans.

Well done to everyone with their losses and good luck to those who, like me, are yet to be banded.

Hi there milton5a!! Great to hear about your surgery date. Don't worry about negative comments re. your band as most are probably meant well but people are ill-informed about the procedure. I chose not to tell anyone about my op except my son and partner because I did not feel the need to, nor did I need encouragement or want advice from friends or family. By the way I wish I had my band fitted when I was your age!!!:clap2: Best wishes,

Josie.

Belated happy new year to all

Hi Debbie and all new bandsters.

Had my first fill just before xmas and have some restriction, but what it did do for me was stopped a lot of the gas i had been experiencing. Realy pleased with the way things have settled down. As long as i don't eat too fast (my biggest problem) then i would not know the band was there, can still eat a good portion but i'm assured this wont be the case once they get the right fill and that it could take up to three or four fills. Booked in for second fill on 21st Jan, have joined the gym and go swimming three times a week so i am hoping for the weight to start moving, it's going but at a slow rate, not sure of how much untill i weigh in on 21st. will keep you posted. Again might be few and far between as still working nights and days,

Good luck to you all

very best wishes

lisa

Hi Daisy and Jovila thanks for your positive feedback!! I do believe that alot of people don't understand the band and they get it mixed up with the gastric bypass - so therefore automatically think it's more complicated etc..

I'm on my pre-op diet at the moment day 1 and oh my god I feel like crap. Now I remember why I can't do diets LOL.

Peace

Lauren x

Best wishes

Lisa

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
