Ooh, ooh, me too me too! :o

To answer your question about thread deleting, T_O_M, a while back the forum options were changed to prevent anyone from being able to delete their thread-starting post. It proved too disruptive when someone went on a deleting spree and took a lot of helpful and important information with her. Members can edit their own posts, but can't delete them for this reason.

I think you mean "can't delete a thread".

I just posted a reply to your post, with "testing 123456789", submitted it, then clicked on "Edit" and when the editing window came up, I selected "Delete Message", then "Delete this Message" and the message was deleted.

I read the book quite recently (Bill and Hillary, the Marriage). I think it's pretty accurate. I could not find anything, anywhere that would indicate the author had a political ax to grind. But if you read the WHOLE thing, you will see that he had many positive, flattering things to say about Hillary, as well.

She disliked the manner in which the Arkansas State Troopers guarded her person....and she minced no words about it. She felt smothered. But they weren't exactly charm school grads, either. One told her (and I'm paraphrasing here), "As far as I'm concerned, you are the property of the State of Arkansas and I'm going to guard you MY way."

I'm a good Catholic girl myself and I don't use the kind of language that has been attributed to Hillary. Never said the "F word" in my entire life, or the "CS word", etc. I had a mother who always had a bar of soap handy and an older brother who served as an excellent reminder of how unpleasant the consequences were. But I'm not going to cast my vote based on whether a candidate swears or not. Where, first of all, do you find one that doesn't? Richard Nixon, the Watergate tapes proved, had a mouth like a sewer. LBJ? Ditto. Also JFK. And I'll bet George uttered a few choice words when he opened up the paper and saw that his daughters were caught drinking in an Austin bar with fake IDs.

Hillary Clinton is no Laura Bush. Even as First Lady, she was no Laura Bush. Now she's running with the big dogs, and you have to expect that she's going to act like them. Otherwise, they would eat her alive.

She would never have been elected to Senate if she acted like Laura Bush, and there would be snow in Hell before she was elected to the Presidency if she acted like her. No offense meant to Laura or anyone who likes her, but to me she has no personality at all. She may be a very strong woman, but she comes across as a meek "little woman".

laurend: Perhaps mysherrijo reconsidered the wisdom of posting such drivel.
I'd hope so, but it's a little late, after the fact. My personal feelings are that if you post something, stand by it, even if you don't like the respnse you get. To me, like one of the other posters said, it's a little 3-year-old-ish to post something and then take it down when you are throwing a tantrum.

Yes, indeed, laurend. And I tend to agree about Lara. She seems like a very weak person to me. She fills the role of Dubya's First Lady just as its been scripted.

You're Aunt Laurend then?

Am I still just a watcher?

No, no, I'm Auntie Lisa. Lauren is my niece, since TOM is her grandpa and I'm his daughter. You can be a cousin if you want, or a crazy ole aunt like me, that would make you my sis.

We need to plan a family reunion!

Whoa, it's Auntie Lisa? I'm so confused. I guess I could be someone over on another thread, someone from King of the Hill. That guy that mumbles.

I knew you were Lisa and your dad is Homer, but I stumbled on the laurend identity. I confess I don't watch it. In fact, if I were to be able to stay true to a role, I'd be Meredith's mother on Grey's.

It's from another thread. TOM and I were joking about how we had the same opinions, but in the opposite gender. I said something about how I could be his long-lost daughter, and then he said he had a 21 year-old grandson, and to call him "Grandpa TOM". So I do.:girl_hug:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
