My name is EnjoyingInsanity. It comes from an old joke. A doctor was interviewing a patient and asked if any of their family members suffered from insanity. The patient answered "no they all seem to enjoy it".

When other kids had imaginary friends, I had a very real constellation: orion. Orionova literally means 'Orion's Daughter', and I use it everywhere.

My grand-nephews middle name is Orion....Malachi Orion. My nephew, who is a writer, thought it would be cool to mix biblical history with astrology. (He obviously never saw the movie, "Children of the Corn")

Everyone in my family calls me Mama, but since I'm a big girl, I decided on Big Mama, no affiliation with the character in the movie lol!

What a fun thread! Okay, the easy part is that my first name is Roger, or "Rog". The "ofUlm" part is from a Monty Python character named Johann Gambolputty, whose full name is: Johann Gambolputty-de-von-Ausfern-schplenden-schlitter-crass-cren-bon-fried-digger-dangle-dungle-burstein-von-knacker-thrasher-apple-banger-horowitz-ticolensic-grander-knotty-spelltinkle-grandlich-grumblemeyer-spelter-wasser-kurstlich-himble-eisen-bahnwagen-guten-abend-bitte-ein-nürnburger-bratwürstel-gespurten-mitz-weimache-luber-hundsfut-gumberaber-schönendanker-kalbsfleisch-mittleraucher-von-Hautkopft of Ulm. (Try saying it out loud!)

On the TV show Dexter, the main character refers to the evil part of himself as his 'dark passenger'. I'm mentally separating the me who wants to be healthy from the dark passenger, that excessively large stomach of mine that has wrapped a fat suit around me. So bye bye, dark passenger.

no onions: because I hate them (they pollute so many dishes) and I am not super creative. :)

I'm the person who will order without onions whether it indicates it or not.

I'm the person who will also say, "I did order that with no onions, right?"

I'm the person that sends salads, sandwiches back if I find and or detect the taste of onion, with the instruction of "make it brand new, please."

*Also no: chives, scallions, green onion, etc.

*Servers probably love me.

*Fun fact: I can say no onions in 5 languages. I traveled some in a previous job.

Result of biting into raw onion accidentally? Immediate gagging/heaves. :o

I've mellowed somewhat as I've gotten older.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
