Such episodes happen when we go hungry for long hours and then we tend to overeat. Yes our systems are new but appetite is just as it was before surgery. It's OK the discomfort will go in a couple of hours. Slow walks and hot Water may help. A must rule: never let hunger take over the brain or else this might happen again and the stomach will streatch over time.

How did you eat fillet mignon? I am 4 months after surgery and I still have a hard time eating red meat. Your only 6 weeks. Maybe that could be the problem. You should be eating pureed foods and scrambled eggs.< /p>

At 4 weeks I was cleared for anything I could handle. I was told to take it slow obviously... I'm 3 1/2 mos out and have tried and can tolerate anything.

Hey all

i spoke to my doctor 4 weeks post op, i told him about my food that i was able to eat mashed meat and purreed patatoes. he said that's good now we see that your healing process is going very well ! he said i asked if i can eat red meat he said try it if you tolarate it then it's good if not well you just have to wait a few more weeks..

so 6 weeks post op i had my first real meal which included a fillet mignon and ravioli pastas ! ofcourse i didnt finish all my meal i ate 3/4 of the fillet mignon and a few bites of the pastas only and a glass of wine ! and surprisingly i was full i was feeling pretty good next time i will take pics of what i can eat and post them !

i can assure you that i cannot tolerate DUCK ! i tried and it and it simply is poison to my stomach it's not digestable !

try it 6 weeks post op i don't suggest you to do it before that

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
