How Are You Feeling About Your Gastric Sleeve Plication Surgery?

Recommended Posts

That's awesome...except I think I caught your stall, LOL! I've been stuck at 12 lbs for almost 5 days now. It is just two weeks today since the surgery, so overall I think the loss is ok, but I didn't want to stall so quickly.

I'm working on my third week post op. I lost 13 pounds the first two weeks and this week nothing. I'm worried I'm eatting too much. I'm keeping my calories at 900 but I'm still not losing the way I thought I would. I have had some days that I've fallen off the "eat heathy" plan but I track it all in fatsecret.com Since I have the band too I'm some what dissappointed that I'm not losing as fast as I thought I would. That is a lot of money to have this slow a progress. But again there are things that I can do to make this more of a success which is work out. I've been lazy on that account. I'll probably do better if I work out every day. I plan to work out tonight and every day after. Will keep every one updated. Wish me luck and success please.

My wife and I are having plication in less than a month. We are trying to hide this from everyone and take it to our graves. Will we be able to get away with it?

I only told my 3 closest friends. Everyone else including all of my family thinks I had hernia surgery. The recovery is similar as are the scars.

I am scheduled for surgery at the end of this month and it truly helps reading everybody's journey. I am super excited to have this new ”tool” to help in my weight loss journey, I used to think that people that had any kind of wls was taking the easy way out, but I have come to relize that is far from the case. I wish everyone all three best!!!!!

Tell them you are having hernia surgery. I tried to keep it to myself but slipped and told one person who told everyone. There is a lot of judgement, especially since I had it in Mexico!! Do what you need to do for yourselves. Good luck!

I am 6 days post op and have lost 7 pounds. I have low energy even though I am well hydrated. I have minimal burning and no naseua. I have diareaha today for some reason. I am drinking yogurt, eating broth, popsicles and drinking lots of gatorade. I have one Protein Shake a day. Working towards getting 2 down! I have no hunger pangs. I actually am enjoying the smell of other people's food and enjoy that almost as much as eating it!

I am looking forward to feeling like myself. Others tell me that is about day 8 or so. Good luck!

I had diareaha on the 6th day as well. I chalked it up to having only liquids for so many days along with so much medication. Also gatorade even on a full stomach can cause diareaha. That is great that you have already lost 7lbs. I gained 5 from surgery (which I guess is normal) and didn't start losing until the end of week 2.

I had to get a refill of the naseua medicine, about 3 days after my last does I was so nauseous I had to take a dramine and then called the doctor. This happened again a week later. I haven't had naseua in 3 days now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
