My first Stall at almost 4wks post op

Recommended Posts

Ive noticed that a lot of people will stall around 3 weeks post op...im there now actually and its driving me nuts! Well im closer to 4 weeks post op coming august 18th. Ive been at a stall for about 2 weeks i wanna say...ever since I was having trouble with constipation....Im better now though as far as that goes...any ideas on what i can do to kick start my weightloss again? Or will it come on its own if i just continue to follow the diet....? Im thinking I should up the Protein maybe? And Water intake? Not sure if that will help..to date Ive only lost 23lbs since surgery...is that a decent amount of weight to lose a month out? All together though, ive lost 40 lbs from my starting weight...Any ideas to help with the stall?

I went through the same thing I started back on a liquid diet with some yoguart & cottage cheese & started walking.... a few weeks later it started coming off but at a. Much slower pace. 15lbs in the last 7 wks but at least its coming off. Hang in there

I'm stalling, as well. I changed my diet a bit, I'm walking around the neighborhood and I signed up with the gym here. I make sure not to let my pouch become lazy with the same routine. Give it something to work for. Protein and Water are essential. Take in as much as you can.

Well congratulations you are at the stage your brain is revolting. It has finally said it has had enough and is putting on the breaks.

In the last month your body has gone through hell. Your Brian believes you have decided to starve your self, and you had someone else dig in you body and move everything around. aka surgery. Your brain is revolting and trying every trick it can to get you back to your normal.

Now many of this your brain works out on its own. I feel like if you think of your brain as a two year old throwing a tantrum it is easier to understand. You have always done certain things and your Brain wants you to continue that way. I stead you are restricting you food I take and no trigger foods.

My opinion is let you Brain catch up a little. Increasing your Protein might work at this stage in the game. Also food logging will always help you see what you eat.

Hi, I have been pretty upset. Am 2months out and stalling. I have lost a total of 51lbs. I am out of the 200 lbs for good for life. Am upset I go up and down from 196 to 197. I don't know if that is normal, and if am doing good. Can anyone let me know more on this stalling?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
