New Person! !

Hello I'm new to this forum. I'm looking for some support :-) . My surgery was 07/31/13. I'm really looking forward to my 2 week post op. I'm so ready to see where this journey takes me.

Welcome! This site has been my savior through before, during, and after surgery! Check the post op threads for a July group as well. Going through the post op time with a group of people who had their surgeries at the same time will help. You will walk through the phases with others "in your shoes". Best wishes to you!

Welcome to the forum. This is a great site for support!

Hi preopmano. I just literally hit my 1 week post op mark today :-). Everything is going good so far. After surgery I wasn't in too much pain. I do have a lot of gas pain. I also have to give myself lovenox injections everyday (they suck). You will do fine. I just try to remember that the pain that I'm going through right now is temporary and things will get better in the future. Looking forward to shopping! ! Lol

That's awesome! I have so many questions! Like do you feel depression since you cant eat what ypu use to?.. whats the best way to prepare for the shock post op? What's the toughest part.. do you really not feel hungry?

I have not experienced any depression. I'm never hungry. After like 3 days of doing my preop diet I began to not feel hungry and its been the same since.

How did you prepare for the post op lifestyle. . How much did you weigh and how much did you loose if you don't mind me asking? Do you have to work out everyday now that ypu had the surgery. . Do you have more energy

Welcome to the group. I am a newbie as well. My SD was 7/16. I just signed up yesterday, but already i feel at home. This group is awesome, in that people share their real stories and struggles. I am going to look for the July group right now. Good luck with your journey!!!!

I walk my dog twice a day usually. I started out at 304 lbs and got down to 147. That was in 2004. I am now up to 212. I am back on the Protein shakes now.
