My surgery is this Monday the 22nd I'm going from lap band to gastric bypass, when I had to do my liquid diet before the lap band I did awesome but this time the last three days I broke down and ate! Anyone else having trouble sticking to the diet? now I'm worried my liver hasn't shrunk enough before monday? Feeling like a failure!! :/

Hi.

I'm sure if you've still lost weight your liver will have shrunk. It's ok, and best of luck xox

I too am going from the band to the gb (on the 27th). I have to have open surgery and I'm freaking a bit because I have been there and done that and it was bad bad bad.

Anyhow... the things we do hey

I've had the band for three years and it's been nothing but problems, Instead losing weight I've gained 60 pounds!!! Can't wait to get it out, but I'm nervous I won't loose weight with the bypass and it will be like having the band all over again! Ugh! And I'm pretty sure pms is making me cheat on my diet lol I'm craving food sooooooo bad!!!

I know what you mean. I have the same fears.

I read all the posts on here, the good, the bad and the ugly and I want to believe that the good posts will be like what will happen to me. But I also know that this is how I felt with the band and how it works for some and not for others.

I am prepared to stick to all the guidelines for the long haul but I'm afraid because my body quickly gets used to less calories and stops losing. I think there's really no getting around it... damned if I do and damned if I don't lol.

All I can do is HOPE that this time will be different, and I hope that for you too maddy78 xox

You ain't fail every doctor is different .... My doctor allowed me to have one meal a day under 500 calories... Which was hard cause I was on vacation the two weeks before my surgery .... Just make sure you drink plenty of Water ..... Good luck and God Bless you during your journey

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
