So I was up walking around my classroom getting things ready for the day. And out of habit I reach down to my shirt to pull it down since it always rides up after I've been walking around. To my surprise the shirt was right where it should be and I was only adjusting it out of habit and not out of necessity!

So I've been wearing my size 18 work pants for a little over a month now and they are definitely lose so I knew I was going to be purchasing a size 16 next. However I have a big meeting coming up with my job that we have once a year and I'm super excited because no one has really seen me in about 7 months and I look like a totally different person now. Well I've been telling my employees that I was not going to buy my new pants until the end of the month when it was closer time for the meeting (all I wear is black pants). Anyway I went to the store last night just to try on the 16s not planning on buying them and 1st off let me say they were on sale, and 2nd they fit perfectly and they even had a little room in them. So I tried on some 14s! They were tight but I just might be able to be in a 14 by October 1st! After saying all of that the whole purpose of this is to say I've never worn a 16 let alone a 14!

I danced until I was 14 years old when I quit because I was tired of being the fat girl dancing. Tonight I tried Zumba for the first time and did FANTASTIC. It was so great to be dancing again and not feel like I was going to die!

I started this journey in a tight size 28 pants. Everything was elastic waistbands and stretchy knits. Yesterday I wore a size 20 pants with a button and zipper and NO stretch at all!!!!! It has been since before my oldest daughter was born 22 years ago that I have worn that size!

So funny! I so too! I put on a sweater last week and discovered I have dainty little shoulders!

Amen to that. People who haven't seen me n a long time remark that I look (and they search for the word) more... confident and happy. And it's true!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
