I am going into my fifth week and I was wondering if anyone is still having that gurgling sensation when you eat?

Today is five weeks for me' date=' and this just started happening to me. Everytime I eat, I gurgle! It is very annoying and I was beginning to think maybe I had a blockage. Glad to know it happens to others![/quote']

I was told no gum because it will create gas.

I have been living on Popsicles and fudge cicles all weekend. Tried to eat but one bite and I just can't eat anymore. Nothing taste right or good. Nothing settles right in my belly. Ugh!

That sucks doesn't it! Happens to me every so often. I feel its getting better tho. I found Edy's brand no sugar added popsicles, called Outshine. They taste like real fruit and are so good! They are pricey, so I buy them and no one else is allowed any! ;)

Hi. So I've been MIA for a while but I really need some advice/support. I am 4 weeks post op today but had complications and had surgery for a bowel obstruction last week. I needed up staying in the hospital for four days. I ate almost nothing, I still am eating almost nothing and my weight is still higher than it was after the second surgery. I have absolutely no energy, I never want to eat anything, go anywhere, do anything. And without the "huge" weight loss that is expected with the surgery, I regret my decision almost daily. I don't know about anyone else but I feel pretty alone right now....

So sorry to hear this. You have your share of bad luck sounds like! :( We have been talking about how blah we all have been feeling. It is the hibernation syndrome, a legitimate part of the bypass process. It cause depression and lethargy. It is our body wanting more food and going into this hibernation. It is common around four weeks. Your lack of weight loss could be due to the iv`s. You said you were in the hospital for four days, and I'm guessing you had an iv. That is a lot of fluid! I don't have any real words of wisdom, but focus on Water and Protein, and you should start to feel better. Hang in there, It and keep moving on! It WILL get better. The shitty part is behind you! You are not alone! Best wishes!

Dori

Wow! Glad you got the fluids and the doctor care. Hope they can pinpoint what is wrong and take care of it SOON! Rest up. We will all be here thinking of you Krystal! Best wishes.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
